Thursdays thoughts
Had my chai tea and fake latte this morning. Breakfast of yogurt and fiber one twigs is right around the corner.
Have my first bone density scan tonight (I'm only 2 years late getting it). But with the nasty weather coming our way, I might need to leave work early to get to my appointment on time.
QOTD -- my husband died at birth. I'm destined to be a widow the rest of my life.

Pam you never know my mom always said "Every Pot Has a Lid" Some day you may find your special someone too.
Of course sometimes spouses are a big pain in the a@@. And it seems that you have to always consider their position when making choices. But when your independent, you make the decisions and get to truly consider your feeling about things.
Mine is of course, but a friend of mine married and divorced the same man four (4) times. It could be worse...
QOTD: I met and started dating my hubby at the beginning of our junior year in high school. He proposed to me on the way to our Senior prom. He joined the Army and I started college and we planned to get married after 2 years, at 20. He was supposed to come home on leave in Aug. of 90 and we were going to get married (He was supposed to be home for 30 days as he was being transferred to NC from WA). About 2 weeks before his leave was supposed to start, he called and said his leave was postponed, he was being sent on a "mission", didn't know how long he would be gone, couldn't tell me where he was being sent and didn't know when he'd be able to contact me again. Um...I thought it was an unnecessarily elaborate way to get out of getting married. Alas, he called at the end of October to tell me he would be home at the beginning of Nov. We got married about 2 weeks later, on a Sunday evening, with mostly family and a few friends, in the church I grew up in. We packed our car and truck and moved to NC. A month later, he was sent to Iraq. And here we are today. This year we both turn 40. Dub turns 1. And we celebrate our 20th anniversary.

All the men wore kilts, we had a bagpiper and it was a beutiful day. We went to St Thomas for 5 days (should have been 5 weeks!!!) and it has been an adventure ever since. We've been married 2.5 years and we're still learning. No matter how much I groan about his sometimes, I love him dearly.
We're looking forward to a second honeymoon in St Thomas when we are at goal weight.
Hope everyone has a great day.
QOTD: I was laid off in the late 70's "OIL EMBARGO" so CETA sent me for training as a truck driver. Then they hooked me up with a job in FT. Scott KS. (whole in the wall town). I was hired and teamed with some guy named Scott. He was a pig, would take lot lizards in the back of the trailer in the Truck stops.
Well we were dispatched to Tex-Arkana TX, for a load, When we arrived they would only allow one driver in the loading area. So I waited. Then. up walked this blond hair blue eyed cutie. He looked kind of young so I thought he was a new driver like myself. I said Co-drivers have to stay out. He in his ****y Smart a**ed attitude, said "I am the lead drive:(lead drivers were buying the truck from the company). So I just said oh. I went into the cafeteria (row of vending machines) and sat at the lunch table. He then came lurking around where I was and bought me a cup of coffee. We chatted a few more minutes. small talk.
But all I could remember were those big deep blue eyes.
We got our trucks loaded. The guy Scott I was working with asked me who that is and I said. OH that's the guy I am going to marry.
Both of our trucks were headed to the same receiver, So we all went to the Tex-Arkana truck stop for fuel and food. We sat together for dinner. The waitress brought our meals and my plate had a leaf of lettuce, tomato, onion and a hamburger bun. The waitress asked if she could get us anything else. and I just looked at her and like the old lady in the first Wendy's commercials said "WHERE'S THE BEEF?". (the bun was lying open with out any meat)
We had a good laugh. decided that his co-diver and I would change trucks. So we cleared it with the company. And been on a never ending journey ever since. (26yrs)
I have been toying with the idea of writing a book about our escapades on the road, BC(before children).
What a great QOTD Danielle. I really enjoyed reading the answers.
QOTD: I met my husband on a blind date. We went to the State Fair on our first date and he walked 5 feet in front of me. I was bored so I dragged him into the horse show and we sat there for the rest of the evening. At least I enjoyed that! When he asked me out again I said yes and then wondered why in the world I was going out with him again. Three months later we were engaged and 9 months after that married. I was totally calm on my wedding day and spent most of the time trying to calm down my 3 sisters-in-law. They were nervous wrecks and one was fighting with her husband. I do remember people kicking us out of our reception early. I wanted to stay because I was having such a great time, but we left. The next day we went on our Mickey Mouse honeymoon (Disney World). We've lasted 35 years this Sept. I really wouldn't trade Gary for the world right now. We've had our ups and downs, but the goodtimes outweigh the bad. Each day, now that we're retired, is better and better. I never believed it could be this food. We are blessed.

Hi - had 3 protein coffees this morning.....
QOTD: Well, I've been married twice and divorced twice (last one last June). My first ex I met when I was still in high school and figured it was a way out of the house - not a good thing.. and the 2nd one I met at work. He worked right outside my office door and every Friday would come into my office and talk to me - and just about the time I could see he was working himself up to ask me out - he'd get the "scared rabbit" look in his eyes and bolt - then I wouldn't see him until th following Monday. Finally one day before the look set in, I told him I was going to the mall for the builders open house - as a hint. He got it and showed up, we started dating after that and within 5 months (oh my) we were married.
But - nothing quite memorable yet afterwards. Dating a nice guy now - and I don't want to jinx it - so we'll wait and see how it plays out with him.
