Move on over!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Tari,
I know everyone is different, but physically the surgery was a breeze. No one was more surprised than me! As I said, I was dreading it.
About my eye, this is my understanding based on the few, not very thorough answers I got when I asked about it....
Apparently when you have surgery, they tape your eyes shut so they don't accidentally get injured.
Well, the person who checked my eye out in post-op said "Oh, they must have left your eyes open".
Huh????
Well, my son who is a PA in the cardiology department at St. Joseph Mercy in Ann Arbor.... told me if your eyes are open, sometimes the cuff of their sleeve or something might brush the eye, which is why they usually tape them shut. I don't know who was at fault, but I'm blaming the anaesthesiologists because they were the ones up by my head. Besides I think someone mentioned it in the post-op area but I was pretty doped up so I'm not sure.
Well, I don't know what the deal is, but I'm not going to worry about it unless I am still having problems at my two week check up. I am using erythromyacin on it 3 times a day.

You must have thought I was lying to you about the surgery being a breeze? I told you it was nothing to worry about. I don't lie! :) Glad the surgery itself went well for you. Sorry about the cornea thing tho. Sounds like they're just trying to skim over their mistake. As long as it's nothing permanent.
You're going to love the new you in a few months. You won't believe how much you can physically do again.
Life is wonderful again after WLS!
