I do highly recommend it.  The Bissel Pet Hair Eraser is my friend.  Almost as good as having a maid, and it's self propelled because it's pretty heavy.  It also has the Hepa Filter.  I would say you won't be sorry.
It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

I vote for buying the cheaper one and then tossing it when something better comes along or it conks out.  Technology changes so fast-and a vacuum cleaner is so basic-that I wouldn't spend the money on a Dyson unless I had all the money in the world.  Having said that, my friend who has a Dyson-the pet hair one-loves it!

I have a Kirby and I love it.  It is way to expensive, but in my defense, I was pregnant and "nesting"  when the salespeople came to the door.  And they are really really good.  lol

I use to have a Kirby until the kid plugged it up cleaning the Guinea pig cage. Apparently Guinea pig poop is detrimental to a Kirby.

Yes the Dyson is expensive, but, If it get plugged up with pet hair or???. almost every part can be opened so clogs can be removed. Saving on the occasional over haul. And in the long run, you save money because you don't need to keep buying the less repairable cheaper one.

You don't need to buy replacement filters, all the dust is contained in the receptacle. and it maintains it suction.

If you can spend the extra bucks it will be worth it in the long run.
