My vacuum cleaner quit on me and that sucks (no, it doesn't).
I need some advice on what kind you like that does a really good job. I like uprights and need one that can really get pet hair as I have two dogs.
So what's your reccomendation for a good vacuum?

I got the Eureka Boss from Walmart I think it's a little over 100$ it's great for pet hair is' suppose to be better than a dyson never had a dyson to compare it to but it works VERY well and gets really deep down in your carpets. I'd vaccum allt ehtime with my old vaccum and never hear it sucking up anything after the frist time using this one I was really surprised how much I could hear getting sucked up. (espically since I have babies on the floor allt het ime)

Deb,

I would HIGHLY recommend a Dyson!  I got mine about 3 years ago and LOVE it.  I have three cats and it really picks up the cat hair.  I think all of my sibblings and my parents own a Dyson too.  They work really well!

I have a Dyson and I got it in 2008 and it is still going strong

We have two German Shepperd's and a cat. so lots of hair. We joke because when I vacuum they want to know how many small dogs I have sucked up. When I do the whole house it like vacuuming up two or three poodles and a puppy. LOL

I recommend the roller ball one.

No I got the animal.
The roller ball came out just after I got mine.

I have the Bissel pet hair remover one too.  It works fantastic and I think it's a couple hundred dollars cheaper than the dyson.  I like it because I empty it after each time I vacuum and can see how much dog hair it picks up.  After my son saw this, he went out and bought one too.  Got it at Meijers for about $149.00.

Thanks Jan! Looks like a good vacuum, too! Don't really have a lot of $$$ for a Dyson, so this may be the best option.
