Good first Monday of 2010!
Finally past the first weekend of the New Year. What's got you going this morning as we start the first work week of 2010? Decaf and black real soon...
Elder son left for the Air Force Base in Alabama yesterday. He has a 90 day assignment down there. Met his Texan girlfriend. She's a very nice gal. We'll see how their long distance romance goes.
QOTD-What's your challenge for this week? I've got to get back on track with tracking my food. I've been a little derailed with the holidays and company, so I've gained a couple of pounds. All of the Holiday goodies are gone. No excuses to get serious and lose the pounds that found me.....
Have a good one!

Good Morning All,

So far only fruit punch kool aid for me this a.m.  Today I have about a billion errands to run.  I will be in and out of the car all day.  Hope it's not to cold/windy.

QOTD:  I need to get back to the gym.  I have hardly gone over the holiday time and do I feel it.  I also need to track my food better.

Have a great day.

Happy Monday Everyone!

So I've decided I'm crazy because I got up at 5am on my day off to go to the gym with my husband before work.  We're trying to go before work now because since it's the new year the gym is crazy packed when I get off of work.

So far for me this morning I've had water and oatmeal for breakfast.  I have lots of errands to run today including going up to the local community college to get started so I can start some classes.  Ever since my surgery in November I'm super motivated to change things in my life.  I guess that's good.  I'm scared I'm doing too much all at once though.

QOTD:  My challenge for the week is to get back to the gym a minimum of 3 times a week preferably more and to track my food.  I've done really bad with journaling.  I also want to get better at taking my vitamins.  I got an app for my iphone that will remind me at different times throughout the day so that should help.  Providing I actually remember to put them in my purse in the morning..lol.

Hope everyone stays warm on this blustery morning!

this my help

Once per week I set up one of those 7day/am/pm pill boxes with my vitamins. (I need to put a fat rubber band around each side so that it won't open accidentally) and then I keep them in my purse, so that way they are always with me, the pharmacy's also carry these little zip lock type pill bags that you can write the day and what not on and you could set them up in advance so that they are easy to carry with you too.

I do this too, Mary.  Except I sort 3 weeks of pills at a time (cuz I'm lazy like that).  I don't carry the whole organizer with me everyday though - it stays at home on my kitchen counter.  I have a small one-day pill box that I pack carry with me in my purse and each morning I empty that day's AM pills into the little box and load it up with calcium for the day.

Here's the 7-day organizers I use --- I like the AM and PM slots for each day.
Here's the 1-day organizer I use.  One side has my vitamins, the other side has calcium.

I also use www.MyMedSchedule.com --- you set up a free account and input all your vitamins and meds and what time you take each.  Then you can have them send an email or text message to your cell phone at the dosing times.   Plus when you have a doctor appointment you can print your list of meds/vitamins and take it along with you so you don't have to remember what you take when they ask you.

My 7 day is the same as yours except that it is all one color. I like the two color one cause some times I catch myself taking the pm in the am and the am in the pm.

I don't have the daily because I know that I won't remember to transfer them from the big on to the little one. So I just carry the big one with rubber bands on both sides so it won't open in my purse or any thing.

Hubby and I had a gym membership here in town for about 5 years.
We hated January because the only time we could get to the gym was on our way home from work and it was super-packed in January into February because of the new year.  It always thinned out though, by March.  I'm actually thinking of re-joining.  I miss their pool in the wintertime.

Good Morning all !

I am back at work today, will be busy the next couple weeks.  I am so excited about losing more weight !  The holidays are over, I survived without any gain and that is great !  Now on to the losses, can't weight (wait).

QOTD - I plan on getting all my excercise in this week, that is my big downfall !  I just don't like getting started on it, once I am doing it I am fine.  I plan on beating that machine this year, it usually gets the best of me !  Tracking my food is a must as well as drinking all my water !

I am excited about being ON TRACK !  It will be an exciting year !

Stay warm !

My challenge for the week is the same as it has been since I had my band unfilled-to try and eat nutritiously and to get some exercise.  I have a surgeon's appointment on the 8th to try and figure out if I can get this thing working again, and if not I am going to start investigating other surgical options, which will most likely be private pay. Wish me luck.

Good morning all!

Back to work today.  It sure was tough dragging my butt out of bed for the early morning commute.  I could seriously get used to 4 day weekends and the life of leisure.   Got my coffee to wake me up - hopefully it kicks in soon.

QOTD -- I wrote a post on my blog last night about "Going Clean" -- meaning eating a clean diet, following the rules and doing the whole WLS thing right.  The holidays gave me an excuse to slack off and screw up.  No more excuses.  What really sucks is that all the craptastic eating over the past several weeks has not resulted in ANY movement on the scale.  So I can eat cookies and bad carbs and piles of crap and sit on my lazy butt and not gain a single pound?  Talk about reinforcing bad behavior, huh? And now I'm going to be eating right and being extra active (because life is about to go haywire) and the scale still won't move.  I hate the scale sometimes.  But I need to do what's right for my body to be healthy.... so I'll eat clean.

Pam
