Hi,
I have seen this over and over, but don't really understand what it is:
Protein hot cocoa and Protein coffee.
What are these??  I love hot cocoa and coffee so I'm curious.
Thanks in advance,
God Bless,

Basically it's just cocoa or coffee with a scoop of protein added to it.  They key to doing hot protein drinks is all in the way you mix it.  If you add ho****er directly to protein powder you'll most likely get lumps and clumps and yuckiness.  Here's how to do it right:

Add scoop of protein to mug
Add splash of cold water or milk
Mix like crazy --- it'll be a thick paste with no lumps
Add a bit of ho****er --- mix like crazy
Add a bit more ho****er... mix... more water.... mix. .... you get the point.

So the protein hot cocoa can be just chocolate protein powder and water... or you can add a package of Diet Swiss Miss cocoa packet at the same time as the chocolate protein powder, then add the water.

Protein coffee... I usually use vanilla protein powder (but chocolate works for a mocha flavor).  I also start with milk instead of water to mix the paste.  Then add coffee slowly while mixing.

I also mix mine directly into the coffee or hot chocolate - BUT you have to be sure the temp is under 130 degrees - or you get the clumpy nastiness.  I have a small meat thermometer that is a staple on my kitchen counter.

I drink my protein powders warm about 90% of the time.

What I do  (and remember, I have the DS and NEED fat, so adjust according to YOUR WLS needs):  I nuke about 1/2c of half & half for 40 seconds -- no more -- or it gets too hot.  I add in a scoop of (Champion Whey) chocolate or (IDS) vanilla-cinnamon protein powder, and use a battery operated hand whisk to mix it all together, then I add in tea kettle ho****er to the chocolate or french-pressed coffee to the vanilla cinnamon.  These liquids can be warm-to-hot, but not boiling, or you will get thick & nasty clumps.

I also like (Champion Whey) Moccachino warm, and Click brand (if you like caffeine, this is a good one!).

I also add in Benefiber when I mix up the protein powder, because I need the extra fiber.
