McLaren Flint question

This will be where I have my surgery.  If you've btdt at  McLaren, did you have to do a pre-op diet?  I've been doing it on my own now for a couple of months and I just wondered if they will still require it seeing as I've been losing on my own?  I'm doing 2 protein shakes a day plus a meal now.

Thank you for your help!

Kim

yes4jess visits this forum often.  I know McLaren has at LEAST a 6 month medically supervised diet, to get approval.

According to what yes4jess said the other day, McLaren actually requires a 12 month medically supervised diet, but she goes through McLaren Regional, and they told her that they send in med. supervised diet info after 6 months and get it accepted.

She's on quite often, I'm sure she'll be swinging by sooner or later.

Oops, I think I wasn't clear about my question!  I'm wondering about the liquid diet right before the surgery?  I know some surgeons do and some don't.  I did call McLaren the other day and the lady confirmed it is six months on the med supervised diet.  I was just HOPING (lol) that because I've been losing on my own that I can avoid a liquid two week diet.  But, if I have to......rules are rules.

Thanks for your response!

Hey Kim, sorry about the misunderstanding.  I am sure someone shortly will come in with answers.  Do you have a surgeon there you can ask?

I also wanted to thank you for saying how long McLaren's medically supervised diet is.  I apprciate you letting me know what you know!  Glad to know it's only 6.

it is only 6.  It IS written as 12 but she did say they ALWAYS approve after 6.  :)

I know!!!  :)  I was so excited right up until I found out that my MCLAREn was cancelled after 1 day because of an insurance confusion.  I did everythng they said I needed to to get it back but I have not heard ANYTHING yet.  Im calling again tomorrow wish me luck!   Im stricly adhering to my dieting though and my weigh ins.  I have my half way point weigh in in 8 days.
