No problem with stairs
no lifting anything over ten lbs. no vacuuming or sweeping. Just like when you had your baby, the same rules apply. Don't try to do too much after the surgery either. I don't know how everyone else was but I felt so wonderful to be done with the waiting for surgery and the fact that I was alive and made it through that I could not sit still very long. The excitement finally kicked in.

Hey Sandi, I'm so happy for you that your time is finally here.  Don't worry about the diet, it'll go smoothly.  Just look toward the goal.
The morning of surgery I was so calm it was almost scarey.  I guess I just was at peace with my decision and knew I was doing the right thing.  I felt the same way on the day of my wedding, and it has been right (mostly) for almost 35 years now.
You didn't make this decision lightly, so you've got to know that it's for the best.  You'll be amazed daily at how much better you're feeliing.
I'll send up prayers for you.

:) Dont worry its only a couple weeks and it's just food...  you can stay busy and think positive about the liquid diet... once you are past 2-3 days it'll be easier as it is with any diet change. :)

I cant wait to be as close as you are though but Im sure it is scarey and exciting both!  :)

Thanks Jess.  I really appreciate all the encouragement from the pre-ops because all I have done on this board is whine!

Sandi -

You'll do fine on the liquid diet.  My surgeon required a 2 week liquid diet and I stuck to it with no problems.  The first day was the hardest so just keep your eye on the prize and you'll make it through!

Good luck to you on Monday!  You are beginning the journey of your life!

Nan,

Thank you.  If I do half as well as you, I'll be happy.  I'm not too worried about the liquid diet.  It does take some getting used to.  Not eating when I'm hungry is foreign to me!

Sandi,

If you weren't excited, calm, terrified.....I'd be worried about you.  This is a life changing event, one not to be taken lightly.  I'm over 2 years out and would still do it all over again.

Good luck,

Edie

Thanks for the encouragement Edie.  I do feel I am doing the right thing.  Now that I've made the decision and almost there, I should really stop worrying about it.

Sandi-
You SHOULD be nervous.  Your whole life is going to change pretty soon!

Try to relax at night and don't get carried away with anxious thoughts.  Your body needs to be well rested and hydrated before you go in to surgery.

I have a different opinion about the liquid diet.  It sucks.  I like to eat and get hungry and crabby when I don't.  It's a test, and a chance for you to set a goal and stick with it.  It might be hard...but you can do it!!  It will be fun to see the scale move, even before surgery.  That can be your motivation!

You'll do just great....I know it!
