Wow, it's been forever since I've started a morning thread!
Everyone must be sleeping in on this snowy morning.  It sure is pretty outside tho.  I'd still be in bed if it weren't for these darn dogs wanting to eat and go out!

Spent a couple of days with each son downstate over Christmas.  It was really nice, but it's nice to be back home too.  Tomorrow our friends Fred and Marla come up to spend the New Years with us.  They just got back from a cruise to Hawaii, so hopefully they'll have pictures to show us.  They loved it and want to go back to Maui and spend some time.  I don't know if I really have a desire to go to Hawaii, but I certainly wouldn't turn down the opportunity if it arose!

QOTD:  What do you do to occupy yourself when you find yourself getting bored?
I pick up a book and read.  I like to pick an author, print out a list of their books, and read them all.  Right now I'm working on Jodi Picoult books.  I'm on my third, and I've been getting them in the large print!  Really easy to read that way.  It's hell to get old(er).

Have a great day all.

good morning!  :) I'm having coffee and even though I had only maybe 4 hours of sleep I was awaken by my favorite person in the world so I guess it's ok  ;)  I want to go to Hawaii as well!

I dont get bored I guess... I read a LOT online including online books, I play an online game sometimes and I watch tons of movies from underneath my pile of blankets. LOL  I am mostly taking care of kids of course but I am very content to entertain myself.  :)

Morning, all. The drive to work was wonderful-everyone must be home because no one is on the roads.  I gotta get rid of all the leftovers at home-the scales are not being kind to me at all.

QOTD:  What do you do to occupy yourself when you find yourself getting bored?
Sadly I have turned into a TV addict, but I also love to read True Crime.  And now that I know how to text, I am turning into a phone texting monster as well.

Good Morning Jan & Michigan,

I just finished my protein coffee after having a glass of skim mile and a glass of SF koolaid.  I'm really trying hard to get in my fluids.  I think yesterday I only go in like 36 oz!  That is one area of the WLS I'm still struggling with.  I just need to do it and quit moaning about it.

QOTD:  When I get bored I usually get on the computer and lurk on OH or Facebook.  I'm not one for just sitting and watching TV; I need to be doing something else or I get bored.  And I'm not a reader.  Jan - I had to laugh at your 'getting old' comment.  I love the idea of 'big print' books!  I need that for my computer.  I need a bigger font computer!

Have a good day everyone!

If you look down to the lower right of your computer screen you will see a 100% just above the time. You can click on the plus sign and adjust your screen so it is better for you to read.

WAHLA larger print.

That might depend on your operating system, because I don't see that on mine.

Nan,

Just a suggestion:
A few months ago I decided to start my day w/ water, so now I keep a glass of water (about 16-20 oz) next to the bed, when I wake up I drink it all down while watching the Today show, so even before my shower...walla, there you go, I've got 20 down before I've even thought about it.

Thanks Edie!  I am going to do that.  Before surgery I had this horrible habit of getting up in the middle of the night and eating.  All the time.  I would eat cookies & milk or usually something sweet.  Lately I have been finding myself waking up in the middle of the night and thinking about food - Ugh!  But, I think it's because in reality, I am thirsty!  So I am going to start putting a water bottle next to the bed so when I wake up like that I can drink.  I think that will satisfy my 'night hunger'

For the past few days I've been trying to have a glass of skim milk (8 oz) and a glass of SF koolaid (8 oz) while I'm getting ready for work.  Then when I get to work, I drink a mug of protein coffee (20 oz) so that gives me 36 oz.  But to be honest, some days I don't have anything to drink after that.  I need to work on drinking in the evenings :-)

Thanks for the tip!
