Ok, so I'm beating her to the punch -

My BFF had her surgery in May, and she is still experiencing nausea every time she eats. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Since May?  Has she talked to her surgeon about it?

I'll have nausea if I eat too much/too fast, etc., but not constantly when I eat.

No, she's eating very slowly, tiny bites, chewing to high heaven, and yes, she's talking to her surgeon. She's doing EVERYTHING right, and still feels ill when she eats. She's seen a gastroenterologist (sp?), and he has ruled out carb and lactose intolerance, but that's it. Nothing else.

Any other ideas?

I have times when I can't tolerate something that has oil in it....butter or mayo, something like that...Have they done a scope to make sure everything is in place?

They scoped her and stretched her stoma a bit two months ago, but no help. I guess she's going to see her surgeon Tuesday to see what he has to say. I know I get certain foods (turkey and chicken especially) that I have to chew to DEATH, or else it hurts, but for her it is ANYTHING she eats.

Grrr. It's hard to watch a friend have such a tough time of it.

Thanks

The only time I've heard of this is if someone has a stricture and since you said that she's already had a scope and stoma streaching with no help, I'm stuck.

Have you posted this to the RNY board?  You'll have allot more rny people reading it.

Good luck to her,

Edie
