I just had surgery 10 days ago and am thrilled to find this online.  My husband had surgery the day after I did and we're doing well.  I find that the holidays weren't probably the best time to have surgery as we've been surrounded by our favorite foods and both he and I have been a little cranky.

Looking for some support and good recipes for the 2-4 week post op life.

Thanks so much!!!

I'll upload some pics to my profile.  I can't post to the forum because something in my browser security won't let me do it.  I'm too computer illiterate to figure it out.

Welcome, to both you and your husband. I think that the fact that you and your husband are doing the surgery and recovery together will be a great motivating factor- Not as many "temptations" around if you are both eating the same thing, Congrats again..

I think it's wonderful you're doing this with your husband.  Mine is still eating everything under the sun.  Right now even though you're around all the food you love, you're not able to eat it, which actually should make it easier.  The head hunger or craving is still there, but you just CAN'T.  I think it's much easier when I can't eat.  The first month or so I lived on protein powder drinks made with skimmed milk so I was getting in enough protein and enough calories.
Cranky will pass, as your health improves.  I'm so much happier these days! :)

Welcome to the Michigan Board!

Congratulations to you and your husband on having surgery!   It's great that you have each other to experience this journey on together!

2-4 weeks out I was eating refried beans, Wendy's chili, Carbmaster yogurt.  Gosh, that seems like such a long time ago...I can't remember!

Just remember to follow your Dr's orders and you will do great.  And come here for support, it's a great place to get your quesitons answered!

Hi there,
I also wanted to say HI and welcome you here.  This is a great place and you will meet lots of NEAT people.
I also think that is cool you and your hubby both had surgery about the same time.  I think it would make things a lot easier food wise.
Well, good luck to the both of you,
