QOTD: Resolutions? Do you make them? And Which ones have been successful? Which ones have failed? Why?

have a great day!

QOTD:
I was never on to be successful making resolutions. I would give them a try and then by Jan 3 I would be back to the norm.

Then I would make a statement like I plan to quit smoking this year, or I am going to lose this weight. but I would not say I was going to start for new years.

And some how during the year when the time was right I began my journey.
I said that I wasn't going to quit smoking I just was not going to smoke at work. I would use stop smoking gum at work. I started the gum and never smoked another cigarette again.
I was just going to investigate the possibility of weight loss surgery, and now I am a Bariatric patient, complete with RnY. And the weight is coming off.
Funny but I started both of these journeys on the same day. June 6, not the traditional Jan 1,

Good morning!

Another lazy morning here.  Had some protein coffee earlier and just finished oatmeal w/ blackberries for breakfast.  I'm definitely taking advantage of these lazy days because I know once the new semester starts life is going to be too crazy to enjoy --- no guilt lazy days rock!

QOTD -- I hate the word "resolution' -- I prefer "goal" since it seems to say that it's something that requires work and dedication.  But this year I'm not doing either.  Still trying to decide what my Word of the Year is going to be.

Just wanted to tell you I think your are such a deep person. I really like the way you think.
I really wish I could discipline myself to really take the time to think things through.

I never considered the resolution goal point of view.

I am going to think about that.

BTW: When would everyone want to start the planning for our next meet n greet. For spring in Holland for the Tulip Festival?

Ahh good morning or mroe like good afternoon! This family slept in this morning we were out late last night at the Family Christmas party until about 11:30. The kids slept in meaning mommy and daddy got to sleep in as well. As far as the QOTD: Well I never make new years resolutions either i'll make goals and this year my goal is to to get my WLS I'm done with the pre-op testing and 6 weeks education so I should be hearing something soon hopefully about scheduling an appointment with the surgeon. I'm getting excited. Also I'm really going to try and have a unstressful semester with classes last semester I just wasn't in the grove of it all and had a really difficult time.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning Michigan.
I am drinking water this am.   Kids got left over holiday quick breads fruit and hot cocoa for breakfast as a potluck in on tap for lunch    in a few  a leftover creation potluck
QOTD   I am with a couple of others.  Prefer to set a couple of goals rather than  resolutions.  One goal is to get rid of last half of 15 # regain.   Other one is to get a handle on grief.    third.  We were all super kind to stepdad this Christmas because he was alone.  He did appreciate it ..  We all need to keep that up and remind each other to remember the old man,.
Have a Good Sunday everyone.

Good morning, my fellow Mitten Inhabitants...

That's kinda ironic, marymazilla.  Those are both of the journeys I am starting as my resolutions to myself.  Killing the smoking habit, and getting approved for my lifelong tool to assist me in living a longer healthier life.  I'm glad to see my resolutions are (or were) shared by others.

:) I spent the day with an old friend I hadnt seen in 12 years... and it was great, like old times! :)

I dont have resolution either just goals and always HOPE and dreams...

I am trying to find a magical way to relocate myself and my kids to a new county right now which will start my insurance and surgeon search from scratch however maybe I can get teh surgeon I originall wanted as well as getting out of my mothers house...  2 things I need BADLY in 2010.

I would also like to go back to school, get a job and even though it may be an impossible dream I would like to get to Denmark by the end of the year.  I am also learning danish.. I got rosetta stone for christmas--YAY and I would hope over teh course of the year I will make many improvements there.

I also plan on getting legally divorced in 2010

big year!   divorce, moving, surgery, school, possible vacation.
