Good morning everyone.  Regular with french vanilla for me..What's in your cup?  Waiting for the vehicle to warm up to go to work for the last day this week....I could scream it from the roof tops lol
QOTD:  Are you finding that the cold is harder on you than before surgery and weight loss?  I was really scared because I am always cold and never sweat anymore.  Yet it is bearable.....For those who are pre op look out your body becomes foreign territory for a while.......Have a great day everyone and stay safe and warm!!!!

Morning Michiganders....
Carmel truffle decaf in my cup this morning....yummo!

Yes, I'm cold nearly all the time....but it's far better than having perspiration running down my face and my hair wet from being overheated.

Safe travel for all those on our "wonderful" Michigan roads over the holidays.....my DS and DIL will travel up to Newberry Thursday morning and back here on Sunday.  Six hour drive in "good" weather.

Have a blessed Christmas everyone,
pat r.

My BIL used to live in Newberry.  They sold their house to one of the Lottery winners up there this past summer.

Good morning everyone,

I've had a glass of SF Grape koolaid and now going to make a cup of reg coffee with vanilla protein powder.

QOTD:  I am cold all the time!  When I walk in my house from the outside I usually leave my coat and gloves on for 5-10 minutes :-)  But I'm also crazy about keeping my heat down low to avoid high utility bills so my house is cold I think.  I've been turning it up lately and I'm kind of scared to get the next Consumers Energy bill.

Pat - I hope your family has safe travels.  The kids and I will be travelling also on Thursday and Friday which are the days they are calling for a 'storm'  It just makes me a nervous wreck having my kids drive in bad weather.  I pray for everyone to have safe travels.

Have a great day everyone.

Good Morning Michiganders and everyone else too.

I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

QOTD: Oh yes I get chill spells. I have to get under the blanket or two and just snuggle upn under them until it passees. I feel like I am getting the flu or something when this happens. I thought something was going haywire with my interanal Temp control. LOL

I understand about traveling family. My husband drives for a living. While all the holiday travelers will be out on the roads this year, he will be arriving home on Christmas eve and won't go out until January 2,2010. This is the first year he has been able to take his vacation during the Christmast season, He normally has to work the days between Christmas and New Years Eve too.
The worst time to be out driving for him 'cause of all the Holiday celebraters on the road.

So I hope that all of your traveling family will be safe. And if they should partake in the alcholic festivities, Please save their lives and those who are innocent by standers,
TAKE THEIR KEYS AWAY AND CALL THEM A CAB!

Tips for a Happy (and Safe) Holiday Season
Hoping, you and your family to enjoy the holidays - but the celebrations can be spoiled by online identity theft, Internet viruses and other threats. So, when you surf, shop, bank, or use email, remember these tips:

Beware of the Unknown -Before opening email or any email attachments, be sure you trust the sender. -If a Web site is suspicious, try manually entering the address rather than copying it or

Safeguard Your Identity -Use strong passwords that mix letters and numbers. -Avoid sending sensitive data over email. -For any transaction, make sure the site uses secure technology (the address should
 begin with "https").

Good morning all!

I ice skated my way in to work this morning.  Roads were slippery - but only in spots... except you didn't know which spots until you got to them.  Saw a couple accidents along the way.  Have I mentioned lately that I hate winter???

Drinking my fake latte this morning, as usual.

QOTD -- I can not stand the cold since surgery.  I never did like winter before surgery, but now that I've got 100+ pounds less insulation it's even worse.  Last winter was worse than this winter (at least so far) and I suspect my temperature gage will level off over time.  I know it's related to less fat to keep me warm as well as eating fewer calories which generates body heat... but still, it'd be nice to be warm once in a while!

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

Good Morning Everyone,
My bottle of crystal light this morning.  I wish I was a regular coffee drinker in the winter.  I have a cup here and there when I get really cold.  Going to lunch at a friends today.  She is making Hungry Girl's Chicken Pot Pie for us.  QOTD: I freeze all the time.  I have learned to dress in layers.  My heat is also up hgher this year.  Every once in awhile I will have a hot flash and I will get warm for abit, then it goes away and I am cold again.  Have a wonderful day everyone.

Hi all,

Q: I was told that the first year to year and a half were the worst and that's true for me.  I'm just over 2 years out and it's better this year that the past....am I "normal", nope, just a bit better.  Remember we've lost a layer of fat that was our insulation, but I'm glad it's gone though :).

Good Morning All,

QOTD: I too am cold all the time.  I always have a sweater on at work and at home I have blankets on.  One night it was so bad I could not stop shivering, even under the blankets with the heat turned up.  I don't want a night like that again. My feet are like popcycles too.

Good Morning !

Black Coffee for me today, no protein powders allowed today so just plain black. (Colonoscopy tomorrow *sigh*)

QOTD:  Yes, I froze the first couple years, I bought lots of the silky long johns for under my dress clothes, I couldn't warm up.  I still am cooler then I used to be but have learned to handle it with layers.  The doctor said it takes a couple years for they Thyroid to adjust to the new "US".

Have a great day and keep warm !
