Good Monday Morning everyone and happy first day of Winter!
Getting up and ready with the first cup of coffee. What's warming your mug today?
Saw one of my favorite annual Holiday shows last night "Christmas in the White House." Always love to see how it is decorated every year.
QOTD-Do you have a favorite Christmas program that you must see every year? I love Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer. I'm so old, I remember when they were first broadcasted.

Hi deb
looks like we are on the same time frame this a.m.  so I guess we got time tied up.

My answer to you QOTD:

I think we did this last week. but here goes again.
I love the Movie "It's A Wonderful Life" with James Steward. Always reminds me of how fortunate I am. And we also love to go to the Rockettes Christmas at the Fox Theater in Down town Detroit.

Ahhhhh....the winter solstice....the day marking the time of year when the days start to become longer and the nights shorter.  It's slow and gradula and we've still a ways to go to Summer, but it's one day closer...a milestone of sorts.  LOL!  Having my usual coffee this AM, then probably some yogurt and a slice of ham.  Making babyfood this AM...steaming Mangoes for puree.  Did carrots yesterday.

QOTD:  I will watch them if they are on, but don't really PLAN to watch any of them.   I think Rudolph is one of my favorites.  I haven't caught any of them on TV, this year, either.  I haven't really seen any holiday shows.  Considering how much TV we watch, that's pretty amazing.  LOL!

Good morning Michigan!

I am sitting at work and just had my breakfast of Carbmaster yogurt and a piece of cheese.  Will wait 45 minutes or so and start on my protein coffee.

QOTD:  I don't have any shows I must see every year but it used to be I'd watch Rudolfp every year.  Haven't seen it in a few years now.

Wow Nan, you are doing so good.  I want to grow up to be compliant, just like you.  I've been slipping a bit lately, but I'm still down 71.5, so I'm not doing too badly.  I'm just 6.5 pounds from my doctor's goal for me, but 30 from my personal goal.  We'll see what happens.

Aw, thanks Jan.  I am too scared to go off plan.  When I go to the support group meetings Pam tells me 'stay scared as long as you can' (LOL)  I think in my mind I know I can test the waters, etc, but I'm afraid if I start doing that my weight loss will stop.  I had 9.7 lb loss this past month (I officially weigh in on the 22nd of each month even though I weigh myself daily still).  So I'm still losing at a good pace.  I keep telling myself if I make it to the 1 year mark and reach my goal, then I'll start allowing myself to try some different things.  Like I still don't eat bread, pasta or rice and I know I probably could, And this weekend we had Christmas at my parents.  I so badly wanted to have a cookie, but I didn't.  I'm just scared to try it, for fear the weight loss will stop, not necessarily because I will get sick).

It's a big head game with me Jan, and I have to work on that big time because I didn't have this surgery to be 'afraid to eat' if you know what I mean.  For now, I'll stay scared until I lose this last 20 pounds which will get me to my personal goal I set for myself of losing 160 pounds.

You are doing AWESONE too!!!!  71.5 pounds is amazing!!

I agree with Pam on staying scared.  I guess I just wasn't scared enough.  I've already tried cookies and chocolate and bread, and they all sit just fine with me.  I'm bad, but I'm also limiting myself.  After the first of the year I think I'm going to go back to using fit day to track my intake of protein, calories and carbs.  I know I'm still ok because I'm still losing.  I hope I continue to lose until my one year surgiversary.  I keep thinking this is going to stop any day, but I'm not even 6 months out yet, so it certainly shouldn't stop.
Snow is coming down again and covering everything.  It sure is pretty.  Hopefully we won't have a blizzard on Thursday when we have to travel downstate.

Nan,

I was the same way, I didn't have a bite of a cracker for 6 months and when I did I was freaked out that it would blow up and hurt and it was only a 1/4 of a Ritz cracker!  I didn't have alcohol until my weight loss slowed WAY down...I believe I was over 9 months out.  I still don't eat allot of noodles and hardly ever eat rice and I'm anal about not eating and drinking together...in fact I usually don't drink for 1 hr. after meals.

Now I can and do eat anything I want, I just moderate the "bad" foods to a minimum, and I don't feel deprived.  I'm 2 years out and I've lost a total of 115 and have regained 7lbs that I'm working on now.

You have the right attitude, keep it up.

LOL, that cracked me up about the Ritz cracker Edie!!!   I took a bite of goulosh I made the other night and chewed up the noodle and spit it out.  I do eat a lot of popcorn :-)

I want to live my life like you do - eating anything I want, just in moderation! That's my long term goal.

Thanks for the encouraging post!

Morning all,

Feels like my day is half over with all ready.  Man it has been busy here.  Just finished a cup of coffee and then some carbmaster yogart.  Then it will be onto some water or sf hawaiian punch.
I am doing well with cutting back to one cup of coffee.  I enjoy it, but I don't drink enough water when I am sipping on coffee all day.

I have put in for a new job within our company.  I sit here on pins and needles waiting to see if I get a call today to talk to the uppers about it.   They are a hour behind us, time zone wise, so they have only been there for 15 minutes.  Don't they know I am sitting here waiting?

QOTD - don't really have any that I must see.  Most of them have run over and over and over again, I am tired of most of the "cartoonish" ones.  Did catch a few of Lifetime's holiday movies yesterday.  It was a lazy day for me.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Pam
