We went to Hobby Lobby and I found some fabulous gifts for $5
Also my hubby is an artist.
We bought plain Christmas ornaments and I wrote people's names and year on it in calligraphy and Hummer painted on them...everyone gets one and it cost us less than 50 cents...now that's cheap but these are beautiful ornaments at it's finest!!

I love homemade gifts...I love homemade cookies!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Darn cookies!

Good Morning Michiganders

Just got back from the bank/bill run. Stopped at my favorite restaurant and got my favorite strawberry chicken salad, it is a tossed salad with strawberries, apples, walnuts, and topped with grilled chicken. And the dressins is Strawberry vinegarette. Wierdo breadfast but Stitch had a hankering for it.

QOD:  You guys plan on seeing persons you haven't seen in a while for the holidays?

My niece is coming from Florida, my nephew is coming home from Kentucky where he is in the military, and another niece is coming from South Carolina.

Getting the pattern?  All the young folks are leaving Michigan and going south.

i know I said after 5 but I have to go out unexpectedly.

1 What does the Chistmas tree symbolize? The Christmas Tree Says it All. Gifts at the roots symbolizes abundance and the fertility of creation. As a tree is represents an axis mundi, or cosmic center of the world in which the eternal energies of creation pour continuously. The Greeness of the tree, is the promise of life, eternally renewed. And the silver star at the top is the mythic image of the pole star, of the world axis. The Christmas tree has become a symbol of the spirit of Christmas in many countries and many, if not all, our homes.
What is the symbolism of the Christmas tree today? Well first of all, the fir tree is an evergreen--it does not die or fade away or lose its needles in the winter. In this sense it has soon come to represent the immortality of the resurrected Christ.

2. Why do people stand when they hear the Hallelujah Chorus of Handels' Messiah? Because when King George the second heard it, he was so inspired, that he stood up. When everyone saw him stand, they stood too. In has been a tradition ever since then to stand when the Messiah is played.

3. What was used for Frosty the Snowman's nose? A button

4. In 1979, the National Christmas Tree in  DC. was unlit except for one ornament. Why? The American hostages in Iran.

5. In what activity are the characters involved in at the beginning of A Charlie Brown Christmas? Ice skating.
