medicaid and wls

I have been searching the forums for an answer...I am sure there is one there, but couldn't find it. I am wondering what peoples experince has been having medicaid and getting wls. I am going to be getting medicaid shortly and would like to start the process for surgery...perferably lap band.

I did lots of studying and it will vary depending on which plans you are given a choice of but I do not believe anyplace takes the plain standard medicaid but if you are given a choice of a medicaid healthplan you can almost definately find a surgeon that will take one of those!  make sure that you research it before choosing though also because tons of them require at least 6 months documented dieting with a DR I would start that if you can afford to go to a Dr and have them write in your chart that you want to considerw eight loss surgery and that you are going to be working on losing weight...then you have to have your weight put into your charts every month they told me no more than 5 weeks in between weigh ins which only require a nurses visit and should be free.
