Good morning everyone!

I just finished my morning cup of protein coffe and will have some yogurt or cheese for breakfast very soon.

QOTD:  We don't have any traditional foods except we used to always make a ton of Christmas cookies and some of the variety we made only at Christmas time.  This year my mom made the comment this is the first time in 50 years she isn't making cut out cookies.  With everyone watching their weight and sugar intake, I guess she decided no one needed them :-)  I love my sister's chocolate fudge at Christmas time too, and even though it's so simple and easy to make, we only have it at Christmas time.  My kids love it to.  They look forward to it every Christmas.

Normal 2 cups of coffee down, now working on the diet soda.  Today is our Christmas party at work and ohhhhhhhhhh the food.  What am I going to do?  I did sample a few things but my pouch still gets pretty tricky and I am 9 months out.

QOTD: Pumpkin rolls made with cream cheese and the family cranberry salad.  Both are extremely rich so Im very limited but I still have to try just a bit.

Good Morning Michiganders

DH was in town again last night. So I got up at 5 to take him back to his truck, so he could go again.  I had my coffee with chocolate protein powder then, so now I am have some celestrial seasons apple spice tea.

QOTD: New Year's eve. Eat beans and sew pillow cases. That is for good luck in the next year.
We make a pot of navy beans and some corn bread, with fried potatoes. and I embroider on a few pillow cases.(same two for the past 25 yrs) I just put the new year on each one in a different color.  It is an old country saying, but  we do it every year. We also, ring in the new year by banging a spoon and a pot to scare a way the bad stuff and the boogie man. Then on New Years day we have Corn beef and cabbage and left over beans and potatoes.

Have a wonderful safe day.

Good Morning,
Working on my first bottle of crystal light.  Getting ready to do an hour of exercise then head to the shower and up to the school this afternoon.  This will be the last day for the school till after the first of the year.  Not many uniforms turned in yet hoping they come back after Christmas break.  QOTD: Nothing now I used to bake cookies with my mom, then when I worked I would bake and take some in to work, but now I don't as I didn't need them then and still don't need them now.

Good morning all!

Finished my protein chai tea and my fake latte... now I'm having my yogurt and fiber one twigs.  I finished baking my 8 dozen Christmas cookies late last night and they're all packed up and ready for the cookie exchange.  I planned it pretty good and only ended up with about 10 extra cookies at home.  I didn't eat any last night because I was feeling kind of pukey .. but I had one this morning to make sure they were edible - and they're pretty darned good.  I went with a variation of the Mexican Wedding Cookie.

QOTD -- Grapefruit!  I think I've mentioned it before here ... but it's a family tradition that we eat grapefruit for breakfast on Christmas morning.  It's also a tradition that the kids whine and complain about it, but still eat at least one segment of the grapefruit.  My mom remembers it when she was a kid and spending Christmas morning at my great-grandmother's... and says my great-grandmother told stories of eating it when she was a little girl too.  So as much as I hate grapefruit, I still endure the tradition each year.  This year we're not gathering for Christmas until the afternoon so we'll be missing breakfast.... I'm considering taking a bag of grapefruit over to my mom's house early and have us eat some for breakfast anyway.

Hi Deb and fellow Michiganders....Happy Thursday!

I'm still sipping on my protein Atkins shake, it's Cafe' Carmel and I can taste a hint of coffee, it's yummy...

Yes folks, I'm eating my words here, I promised never to drink another protein shake once I started eating regular foods. I've been so busy here at work, it's crazy and the holidays to boot!
I"m also paying the piper on going on our cruise and eating. I'm taking the bull by the horns and kicking it to the curb!!

I'm going to spin class tonight then my trainer is going to set up a new schedule for me on all the machines upstairs.

I'm looking forward to 2010 and will be with all the crazies who come to the gym on Jan. 2nd. Now Deb and I always go to the gym but in Jan I usually stay away cuz it's so packed with all those people who make going to the gym their New Years Resolution. By later Feb. the gym is usually back to normal.

QOTD-I don't cook...I look forward to eating what Deb bakes!! LOL...Deb is a great baker! Unfortunately...so is my new hubby, he makes wonderful homemade cookies...that's why I gotta go to spin class. I LOVE COOKIES!!!
