I think I am out of luck....

I just realized I'm probably not going to be able to have a 'last' dinner and I am sad.  It's my fault really but I don't like to admit it.

I am having surgery 01/04.  I weigh in 12/30.  I start my 7 day liquids 12/29.

Since I still have about 5 lbs to go to get down to where I need to be for the weigh-in....... no last dinner.  BooHoo!!

Don't be regretful of the Last meal.
Your not being forbidden to eat for the rest of your life.
You are going to be able to eat again This is just a temporary thing.
You still have 14 days to have a good farewell feast. Just be conservative. Have a little of your desire and be done with it.

I understand how you fee.

My farewell feast was to go to Chicago and eat my fill of Italian style roast beef hoggies.
I can still imagine the taste and texture. My date got bumped up and my plans got changed.
I don't miss it now but I do eat what I want and know I will get to have my CIBH in the spring as soon as we can take a trip to Chi town

and when I hit the scale and those lbs are gone it is well worth it.

I think the last supper is highly over rated.  The food I ate for my last supper (my dad's homemade noodles) -- I ate those for Thanksgiving last year and again this year.  That's more often than I'd eaten that in the past 10 years!  LOL!

You'll be able to eat all your favorite foods again.  The quantity will be different, but you'll certainly be able to eat 'em again.

Better to focus on the goal of 5lbs now and stay on track with the plan.  :-)

I also wanted a Last Meal as I thought I wasn't going to be able to eat for the rest of my life - and that is NOT true.  But when it came time for the Last Meal I felt so guilty for wanting to take this journey - and then wanted to eat this large, calorie and fat filled meal, I just couldn't do it.  I have a few bites of it - then pushed the rest away.  I guess my mind was finally catching up to what I was going to do to my body, and was prepared for it.

Don't despair - it is ALL very well worth it!

Congratulations and good luck on your upcoming surgery.  It will be the ABSOLUTE best thing you've done for yourself!!

I agree with what they've said.  I had my "last meal" and surprisingly I've had it again and again, only in MUCH smaller quantities!

I totally agree with what the others have said.  I planned for my last day of eating before my liquid diet started.  I bought a dozen donuts first thing in the morning and planned a 'day' of eating everything I thought I wouldn't be able to eat for a while.  As it turned out, my daughter was in a car accident that day and totalled her car and I was tied up with that all day and didn't even think about eating til about 7 pm that night at which time I ate about 4 of the donuts and ordered a pizza - LOL.

You'll have your favorite foods again, just in smaller portions :-)

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and encouragement!  It helped me get my perspective back in focus.

I guess I was feeling like I wouldn't be able to eat anything 'good' for the rest of my life.  You guys reminded me that's not true.

I totally understand how you feel. I was planning an all day feast myself but got so caught up in my activities that day that I really did not eat everything I wanted too. But funny enough, I did have pizza for my last meal for dinner and hurt so bad that it was NOT WORTH IT AT ALL. Like everyone said, we will be able to eat again. We are just taking a break for a bit and are getting healthier so that the next time we do eat that stuff it will be in moderation and we won't have to feel guilty about it. Good luck!!
