mammogram drama

Ok...a week back I posted about having an irregular mammo and ultrasound come back. Well, the OBGYN sent me to a surgeon, I went to the lady surgeon in the same office as my general surgeon. She is supposed to be a specialist of the breast issues.

Here is my dilemma, sorry this is long. I am soooo frustrated. I took the mammo, and ultrasound to her from the hospital. She looke dat them and the report from the radiologist and said immediately she wanted a biopsy and a MRI. Ok, so I went right from her office had the MRI done and bloodwork. Yesterday, I went in for the needle biopsy. Different hospital than I went to for my mammo and ultrasound. This is a specialty breast cancer center..and they performed another ultrasound before they did the biopsy. Well, they could not find anything in their ultrasound at all like on the mammo and ultrasound I brought with me. So the radiologist said he did not want to do the biopsy with fear he would not find anything in the biopsy and give me false hope. He said they should have never scheduled the biopsy until they had the results from the MRI. Which won't be ready for several days because they have to send it out to be read. Why would the surgeon put the cart before the horse.?

Needless to say, I was very frustrated and I called the surgeons office yesterday and cancelled my follow up for Tuesday. I give up....I used my last 2 days vacation until April and feel like it was all useless time spent.

Thanks for letting me rant....

Kajun,

first of all (((hugs))).  Please dont say it was wasted time.  Yes, someone made a mistake in timing, but I am glad you went to the appointments.  You are right to take all of this very seriously.  Its just several more days of waiting, yeah, I know, sucky, but please keep the appointment for the MRI results :)

Kajun,

Sorry your going through all of this.  Maybe the MRI will not see anything either....wouldn't that be great!  Some of those tests cannot distinguish between a solid mass and liquid, and if yours was fluid filled it may have been re-absorbed by your body and all your worries will be gone.

Try to keep your head up.

Thanks for the encouragement....one of the masses is there, I can feel it, the other one they could not find. The one I can feel, they felt also and called it a density.
