Good Morning everyone.  Nothing in my cup yet. Trying to eat an egg sandwhich.  Then shower and coffee on my way to work.  We got about 5-6 out there with steady flow. Be careful everyone it isn't done yet and have a nice day.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow......  It's ok, as long as Jessica doesn't decide to go into labor today!  It's not done yet either.
I've got ice box cookies in the fridge that I need to bake today.  I'm taking them to Jay's house when I go, but don't want them hanging around my house for too long.  I'm finding that I can eat anything again, and really don't want to find that cookies are ok too.  I wonder why some people dump on sugars and others can tolerate it.  It appears I can tolerate almost anything.  Now it's back to self-control.  That word is almost not in my vocabulary.
Right now I'm dehydrating some apples and bananas.  I love dried apples, but banana's are iffy.  Gary likes them tho.
We made our version of Swamp Soup yesterday.  It turned out pretty good, but not like the stuff you buy at Centre Street Cafe.
Hope everyone is safe today.  Don't take any unnecessary chances.
God Bless you all.

Jan,

How thick to you cut your banana's to dry?  How long do they take to dry?

Ok, what is Swamp Soup?  Your going to have to post the recipe.

Thanks in Advance.

The book says 1/8 " thick.  I think that's too thin so I cut them about 1/4"  They take 2-3 days in the dehydrator.
Swamp Soup... I'm still working on trying to get the recipe right.  I used 1/4 large onion chopped and 1 clove garlic chopped and sauteed in a T of olive oil, a large can (28 oz) of crushed tomatoes with basil, a 15 oz can of tomato sauce, a 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes, about a tablespoon of basil paste, 1 pkg frozen chopped spinach, rung out well, salt and pepper.  Mine is a bit thick right now, so I may thin it down with some vegetable stock.  It's very tasty.  Jody introduced me to it and I introduced my hubby to it, now he wants me to make it!  It's great with a piece of dense bread to dunk in it and I think it's good for us too.  Don't have the nutritional value, but it's got to be low in calories.

Good Morning everyone,
Day 1 of my liquid diet and I haven't hurt anyone YET.  Actually, it won't hit me for a few days, and then I will be a monster.

I hear the roads around Metro Detroit are ok now, but going to get messy later.  Be careful out there!

QOTD-sometimes.  But not always.  LOL

Hope you all have a good day!

Good morning.  I know it's Wednesday, but it feels like Monday because hubby went back to work today after 2 weeks off.  I'm having my regular Starbucks and eating a chocolate chip cookie....made some homemade yesterday.  Will eat something protein based in a little while.  I'm trying to decide if I am going to the inlaws' today to work.  Don't want to go out in the cold!

Have a great day and try to stay warm and dry.

Good Morning,
Last night when I went to bed there was snow on the ground and it was freezing rain.  This morning the snow is gone, the wind has calmed down, but like Brenda said it should get yucky tonight.  I am out the door in a few to go babysit for my friend while she goes and gets a fill.  Then back home to do laundry and stay inside.  Just started my crystal light and my vitamins.  Stay warm!!!

Good Morning All,

You all seem so happy to see the snow.  I do not like the snow.  I don't like the cold, the mess that it brings, the trouble on the roads and I do not like dirty slush.  It is however very pretty to look at when it is fresh crisp snow.

I worked 3rd shift the last couple of days to cover a person who was out sick.  I had a hard time with it.  I used to work 3rd shift for almost 3 years did not like it then but it worked for the family.  It just seemed to kick my but this time.  The thing I liked the least was my eating was way off.  So now I am back to days and hopefully back to normal.

Have a great day.
