support- grandrapids area...

hello everybody, i was looking for local wls support groups- meetings, id love to start attending one its almost a yr since my surgery and things are going pretty good but i want to stay in touch in person with ppl who have gone through the same things i have, its a long process, and only the ppl who have been there know what im feeling these days....thanks so much for any info..........take care......tracy.

I am so with you.  I would love to go to one that is designed for people over 18 months out.  That point where you are no longer using the rapid weight lost from surgery.  I am looking for support fo maintaining my weight loss, if not losing more on my own.

 I saw this post the other day and, although I don't live in the Grand Rapids area, I "do" know a wonderful support group who has a fantastic group leader. I don't believe they are doing a support group meeting in December- but feel free to contact her and she will answer all your questions. Support is an important aspect of success.. Hope this helps. Also, if this support group isn't convenient, since you are both patients of Grand Health Partners, you should be able to contact them and they can give you a list of support groups and meeting times in your area..
