I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Colleen and I had open RNY on 9-30-09. I have belonged to one of the groups on OH since prior to surgery, but didn't realize there was a forum for people in Michigan.

I took the Rider's Edge course last year but had to drop out due to carpal tunnel; my hand was a slab of dead meat on the clutch.
I had my bike all picked out; an 08 purple Heritage Softail Classic. Hubby had the down payment and was going to pay half the monthly for me. As it turned out, I have been out of work since last February so it's a good thing I didn't have a motorcycle payment to worry about. But I still dream of owning my own Harley one day. I do own a bike. Don bought me an old Honda to practice on.
We went for our last ride of the season week before last. Don has an 07 Ultra Classic Screamin' Eagle that he stores at a dealership in Ohio for the winter. They will do a little work on for him and keep it warm for the winter.
We love it, love it, love it too! This is kind of new to me; Don and I have been together for only two and half years (love at first sight, married 5 months after we met!) and I took to the "biker life" right away. Don wants me to learn to ride but he also likes having me on the back of his bike. I have lost 40 pounds since the surgery and I could tell the difference right away when I got on the bike. I wasn't smashed in the back seat like I was this past summer. I am also going to need all new leather come next season, but that is just an excellent shopping spree to look forward to!

Hey Jan! I'll be picking mine up Friday from the guy who has been working on it. Probably won't get a ride in yet this year since the weather is going to go downhill later this week. But its nice to know its all set for me to go when it does.

Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it. Took 8 months.
90+/- pounds lost BMI - 24 or so
Starting BMI between 35 and 40ish?
