Sounds decent to me.  I really like the South Beach bars.  They're chewier than most.

I personally only buy the South Beach  High Protein Cereal Bars --

Calories 140
Fat 5 gm
Sodium 150 mg
potassium 150 mg.
Carbohydrate 15 gm
sugars 7 gm
sugar alcohol 3gm
fibre 3 gm.
Protein 10 gm

They are also enriched with the following vitamins: A, C, Calcium, Iron, Thiamin, rioflavin, niacin, b6, b12, phosphorus, and zinc.

There are 5 bars in a box for $2.98 at Wal Mart  in the cereal bar section.  They come in cinnamon raisin, peanut butter, and chocolate.

Pure Protein are really good, also the Oh! bars.  Their the best bang for the buck that I've found.

Oh Edie, that was the other one I've read about on here besides the Pure Protein bar was the Oh bar.  I can never remember that in the store when I am looking at protein bars.  I need to keep a pad of paper by my computer so when I'm reading the OH forums I can write down ideas and recipes that I see.

Try to remember that they have the same letters as the OH forums :), maybe that will help.

So smart!!!  Now I know I won't forget the name of it!  I've heard that one mentioned over and over on the OH boards and people seem to like them.  Thanks for the tip Edie, I won't forget the name now :-)

My protein bar rules:

No more than 200 calories
Must have more protein than carbs
No more than 9g sugar
Fiber is good

Sooo.... Pure Protein bars make the grade.  But just barely.  Instead of it being a snack (which I try to keep under 150 calories) -- it's closer to a meal replacement or part of a meal.  The taste is fairly good, although it's easy to get tired of them quickly (I rarely eat them anymore because I can't stand the taste).  Although I did have one this morning on my commute to work because I was running late and couldn't make a shake. ....  I also took some with me to Florida and use them at odd times when I needed food but a meal wasn't planned.

My personal favorite is the Chocolite Bars (triple chocolate, peanut butter or truffle).  They are 95 calories, 9g protein, 9g fiber .... and they taste like you're being naughty.  You can get them at Meijer in Midland or Birch Run (haven't found them at other Meijers yet) ... or order them on Netrition.  They are perfect for my 3:00 chocolate craving and keeps me out of the candy jar in the office next door.

My Recipe Index is packed full of yumminess!

Thanks Pam!   I think I'll make a trip to Meijer to get some Chocolite Bars!  I did use the Pure Protein bar as my lunch because I was out running errands, had gone to Walmart for some protein powder and vitamins and saw the Pure Protein bars.  I ate one in the car on the way back to work.   But then was full all afternoon.
