Good Morning everyone!
Happy November 17th. What's brewing this morning? Love my usual black, decaf especially this early in the morning...
My daughter's father-in-law was admitted to the hospital yesterday with H1N1 and pneumonia. Pretty scarry stuff. He's been taking care of my baby grandson, so I pray Colin doesn't get ill, too.
QOTD-If you had both the time and money, what would you do for someone? I would love to fill our Food Pantry at our church. There is so much of a need right now and our Pantry is constantly running out of food and staples. I would love to be able to keep it going without constantly asking for donations from people who are just as needy...
Well ,time to get movin' and get ready for another day with the students...
Have a good one..

Good Morning Deb and everyone!
I'm drinking some Purple Smash with my buffet of supplements this chilly morning.
I met my new PCP yesterday.  I think I'll stay with her.  She seemed really knowledgable about WLS and other things we talked about.  Now the only thing is I have to do 2 24-hour urine collection tests.  How the heck am I supposed to collect my urine while I'm at work?  I guess over Thanksgiving break will be a good time to do that.

QOTD-I would set up some kind of taxi system for kids.  It breaks my heart every morning to see these little kids (some of them kindergarteners!) walking so far to school alone in the dark.  It also bothers me that Shane misses so much after school because I can't drive him.  I guess people don't carpool around here anymore.  I know it seems trivial, but If you could see these little kids walking down a main road almost a mile by themselves in the snow.....ugh.  It just kills me.  I think of offering them a ride all the time but don't want to freak the parents out!

Hope you all have a good day!

Morning Michiganders!

I think I am at a stall. been 279/280 for the past couple of days. Had some serious gas issues yesterday too. So today I am going to make sure I get my protein and water. I will be going to exercise later so we will see.

QOTD: I think the today's youth needs more places that are safe, that will keep them occupied. Help them develop real day work skills.

I always wanted to take one of these old bars and make it a kids club, for kids that are between 11 and 18. where they could start their own business. Say doing web sites for business. They would earn money for their services from the revenue taken in by the club after expenses. I think that would give them real world experiences. They would be the managers and sales people and what ever. I would be the link to give them direction.

Have a really radical wonderful day!

Hi all -

Slept late this morning so I was rushing to get to work on time.  Which meant I had to skip my normal stop at Top Dog for my fake latte.  Instead I have a mug of normal coffee this morning.

QOTD -- Mmm...  In the past I'd say that I would figure out a way to bring my grandmother home from the nursing home, hire nursing assistance and get her out of that hospital environment.  But I don't need to wish that anymore since it happened about 4 months ago.  She's so much happier living at home with my parents.

Next on my list would be my siblings.  My brother is laid off and trying to get his degree... so his family is struggling financially.  My sister is jobless and recovering from shoulder surgery and her husband is still going to school to finish his degree ... so my sister's  family is struggling financially too.  Wish I could do something to help them get on their feet.

Having my coffee this AM.  Getting ready to go to my inlaws' today.  Deb, hope your grandson (and other family) can stay clear of the H1N1!! We've been trying to get our shots for a month now.

QOTD:  I would start a free tutoring/reading program.  Enough said.

Good morning all.  The H1N1 is scary, especially for younger people. I hope Colin has been immunized and is protected.  I had my H1N1 immunization as soon as it was available and it was no big deal, so I urge everyone who hasn't been immunized to get it done when you can.

QOTD-If you had both the time and money, what would you do for someone?

If I won big on the lottery, I would donate a huge sum to the College of Nursing at Wayne State University since my education there made my life possible. And I would donate another huge some to Detroit Receiving Hospital where I work, because we do so many good things here for so many people in need.  It helps me to realize every day how fortunate I am.

Judy, in what area do you work?  My SIL works there.

She's probably in the psych area.  She retired from Northville State Hospital when they closed.  Her name is Karen M.

Drinking water this am.  I ran out of my English breakfast tea.
Hectic  day here with shrink appts with both my little ones and I have the 5 teens again.  I feel for the kids  gramma isn't doing well at all.  Her time is coming and she is all these kids have to care for them. only one who cares anyway.
QOTD  I have 2 dreams if I had the money to do with.  Create some way for our children to be safe.   All our children to be safe in every way.   Talk about impossible dreams.
I would also like to do something to bring jobs back to Michigan.  No idea what or what kind of jobs.   Not even the real high end high paying jobs.   Just jobs mid level jobs that people could pay their bills feed their family's   pay the heat bill.
Have a great day Michigan
