I'd love to hear about anyone who has had this and what the experience was like compared to recuperating from the band surgery. I am seeing Dr.Poplawski in the morning after getting in after a cancellation, so I don't have to wait till Jan 22nd!

Want to get approved - have all forms filled out, so much easier doing it the second time around. I know that my insurance has approved others revisions, so I feel confident.

Now, to have the revision done before the end of the year? Thats what I would love for Christmas Santa!

If I wait till 2010 I will have to pay 1500.00 deductible and 20% of the surgery cost.

Also, good to heal up when there is little reason to be outside.

My insurance had me stay 1 night when I got the lapband. The bed was super thin, very uncomfortable. The nurses I had were nice enough but I didn't feel that they knew what they were doing. Once I saw one of them counting WITH HER FINGERS. I was in pain alot when that should of been taken care of. I was ofcourse polite but insistent.

I think I will bring the studies they have done on red haired people needing more pain relief!

Wish me luck fellow Michiganders!

Red heads needing more pain relief?  LOL!  I would skew that study, I think.  I didn't take pain meds after my c-section and only got an epidural because of said c-section (which was unplanned...was planning on a natural birth, too...lol).  I did like the morphine button after RNY, though.   LOL!

Sorry, don't have thoughts on a revision or the beds at Barix!  Good luck!

All systems go! Dr.Pop is going to do an endo to check out my band, my psychiatrist is writing a letter that I am sane enough to have this surgery and as soon as I am approved I wil be scheduled. They are scheduling for January.

He told me it was dangerous. First he said 5x as dangerous as getting the band, then he said 10x as dangerous. With all the scar tissue and how they pushed my stomach to get it into place to band. First time I saw him with a worried look, maybe more concerned.

I am healthy otherwise, mostly.

Hi Rose, I've had multiple abdominal surgeries.C section X2, gallbladder and lapband now Nov.5 lapband to RNY.I was approved by AetnaPPO in 2 weeks without question. Had the band for 20mo. without any loss.  Then diagnoised with lymphedema. Anyway compared to lapband surgery my pain is more annoying all in the leftside where they cut the muscle.  I have multiple health issues and did just fine. I too was in a 5tar hospital with average nursing care. I'm a nurse so knew how things should have gone.  I don't have the big bulge of swelling like the lapband  all my incisions are at waistline and above but the pain is a burning tightness like a C-section.Stayed in hospital 1 night had a painpump that I went home with(a small bulb that deflated over 2 days) which we took out the 3rd nite. It did not help the leftside pain .The first week is rough especially finding a comfortable position. Still can't lie in bed flat. Getting better relief with aheating pad the Dr. suggested.Have had no problems with nausea or taking in fluids or food. You'll be fine. What a wonderful way to start the New Year!!!

I have had 1 c-sectiona and it was the absolute worst. I know what you mean about the pulling pain. I am hoping to get scar tissue reduction massages before.

Since I had two surgeries within 14 months or so, (shoulder and knee) I have been on lots of pain medication, probably 2 years straight while I tried to NOT get surgery. Regular dosages of vicodin or morphine or oxycontin for example do nothing for me.

I am worried about the pain. When I was gutted, I mean had a c-section, they were starting to cut and I still wasn't numb, this was years before the 2 surgeries and 2 straight years of hardcore pain medications.

I am ready!

You are in great hands with Dr. Pop!!!  I've been a patient here twice and never had any issues with the beds, nurses or anything.  Actually the nurses were awesome!  Love Dr. Pop, you should be very happy.

Good Luck to you!
