Good Morning All,

Had my check up yesterday.  Doctor said my blood work was great.  It was my 3 month check up but I am 4 months.  He said I don't have to come bac****il I am 12 months out.  So I guess I get to skip my 6 month.  I will still have my pcp do some blood work along the way, don't want to get behind the ball if something is wrong.  I was very lucky yesterday.  The doctor was way behind but Mary came strolling out of the office and she seen me.  It was her 2 week visit.  We sat and chatted until it was my time.  THANK YOU MARY, it made the time go by quickly.  Annette also said for me to add one meal, I am not getting enough calories.

QOTD--I used to read all the time.  I like Jannette Oake books, they are all Christian Love story ,  I also read the Left Behind series.  Right now I am into movies.  My husband hated it when I picked up a new book.  He said it was like the world stood still until I finished the book.  I would just sit and read.  He would listen to book on tape on his way to work.

Have a great day

Good morning Michigan!

Getting ready to have some protien coffee with a splash of carmel SF.  Already had a little bit of SF grape koolaid.  Today at work we are having a 'chili cook-off' so I signed up to make chilli.  It's sitting in a crockpot by my desk and is smells sooooo good.  I'll probably be crazing on it all day long :-)

QOTD:  I'm not much of a reader.  My mom, sisters & SIL's are big readers and they always bring bags of books to family dinners to trade but I have just never been much of a reader.  If I lay in bed or on the couch to read...I fall asleep.  My youngest son is a huge reader.  He's a senior in high school   He will sit and read for hours.

Have a good day everyone!

Good morning.  Nothing for m yet except my vitamins.  Thinking about carbmaster yogurt and Kashi.  We'll see.
QOTD:  I love Janet Evanovich, JD Robb, Nora Roberts, Patterson, Mitch Albom, I guess it doesn't really matter, I love to read.  Yesterday I stopped at the library with three books in mind.  Naturally all three were out, so I put a hold on them.  The librarian asked me if I was just looking for something to read and suggested a light read for me.  I brought the book home and it's a nice little story.  It's called Eat Cake by Jeanne Ray.  I need the last Janet Evanovich 15 something, the last JD Robb, Promises in Death and I want to read Mitch Albom's The five people you meet in heaven.  I like to watch movies at the theater, but if we rent one I usually fall asleep on the couch before it's over.  I've tried several times to watch The Green Mile, but never made it.  Maybe next time.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.
Jan

I like the Janet Evanovich books, too.  I read 15.  It was ok.  Typical story, but not her best.

I have to say, I read the Green Mile about 10 years ago when my brother and I were on our way back from Wyoming and his truck broke down.  We were stuck in Cheyenne for 4 days.  I could not put that book down!!  It was so good.  So, I was leery abou****ching the movie because the book was so good.  The movie does the book justice.

Good morning all!

Vacation was great and I had a blast!  The beach was wonderful and I got a nice tan to last me into the winter.  But the stark reality of Michigan hit me this morning when I had to scrape my windshield of a layer of frost.  Yuck!

QOTD -- I'm a huge Nora Roberts (and JD Robb) fan and own about 90% of all the books she's ever published.  For a while there I was on a quest to get 100% of her collection, but there are several of her early works that simply aren't available -- unless I want to pay big bucks, which I'm not willing to do.  She's got a program through her husband's bookstore where she autographs her new books and they are sent to you on an auto-ship program the day they are released.

I read a TON of stuff last week on the beach.  A bunch of Debbie Macomber and a few self-help books too.  Wish I had more time to read for leisure -- lately it's just been textbooks.

Have a good day all!
Pam

Pam, let me know what Nora Roberts books you want.....we get tons of books when we have our church rummage sale and I'll be glad to look for them.....

I'm a big reader, always have been....belong to a book club and we read some really good books.  Last month it was "These is my Words" by a Nancy Turner -- one of the best books I've ever read.  We do classics too - last year we read "To Kill a Mockingbird" then watched the old movie of it with Gregory Peck -- awesome.

Have a great day, everyone!

I am drinking a protein shake made from a recipe I got on another board.  It's yummy!  I can't believe I have been drinking jus****er and the syntrax when I can indulge in these.  I had coffee earlier...and I am happy to report that it is 9 am and I still haven't drank a can of diet coke (I am giving it up again lol)!  I am also trying the 5 day pouch test.  Things are getting out of control mainly because of the diet coke.  I gave it up before surgery and started drinking it more and more shortly after surgery.  Just between you and me (not the dietician) I am pretty high up there in the number of cans I am consuming again, so this is a real challenge.  Whether it stretches the pouch or not (I heard both sides), I do think it causes me to want to pick all day on junk food.  I don't dump so there is the problem.  I been losing ok but I just feel out of control.

QOTD:  I read in spurts too.  I read many in a row and can go a long time w/o reading.  I bought the Twilight series when it first came out, but never read it yet.  I like historical fiction, especially those about Henry VIII's wives.  Other than that mostly vampire books or something that catches my eye.  I like to read fiction of bipolar people too, since I have that.

I don'****ch TV much at all and movies don't hold my attention long enough.  Music I do love though!  I am stuck in the 90s with bands like Alice in Chains and Nirvana.
