Good morning everyone and Happy Hump Day!
What's brewing in your cup this morning? going to start a pot of decaf java real soon. Can't get any better than that :-)
Today is Veteran's Day! A salute to all of our veterans and those who are serving in the military.
QOTD-Are you a veteran or who's a veteran in your life? My husband was a Marine during the Vietnam era. Thankfully, he never went to 'Nam at that time. My eldest son is in the Air Force Reserve, currently at Goodfellow AFB in Texas. My father was in the Army stationed in Germany after WW2. I am so proud of all of them and what they did to serve our country.
God Bless

Protein chai tea for me this morning.  It's a cold 30* out side and the lawn is covered in white, but it's just frost!  The sun is shining and looks like it's going to be a pretty day.
QOTD:  My Dad was in the Army in WW!! in Germany and Italy.  My brother was in the Air Force.  Hubby was in the Navy on an Air Craft Carrier during the Nam era, but got an early out when the ship was heading toward Nam.  His time would have been up by the time the ship got there, so they let him out early.  Thank Goodness.
I try to pray for our troops daily and not just on Veterans Day.  Please do the same.

Morning Deb and everyone

Working on some coffee right now, and then on to some oatmeal.  I am at work early to make up time from yesterday.  My new boss is not as flexible as my old one.  The new guy is very by the book.  If you have a dr appt, you have to take sick time for it or vacation time.  My old boss had kids and was very understandable about appts at school and dr appts, as long as our work was done, he was pretty flexible.

QOTD - My late FIL was in the Navy during WW2.  He was about to ship out when his third child was born, so he was discharged.  I had a cousin who was in 'Nam, and fit the "look" from someone who had been there.  Long hair, beard wearing his old camo gear.   He battled various forms of cancer from things he was exposed to over there, and passed away before he was 55.   God Bless them all.

Good Morning!  Hump day is right.  I am chugging along, hoping this Wednesday flies by.
Drinking Purple Smash right now, and probably throughout the day.

QOTD-My dad was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam war.  He had bad eyes, bad hearing, and flat feet.  Apparently, the Army didn't want him on the front lines, so they had him doing office work in Germany.  My mom's boyfriend was in the Army, right in the middle of the horrible things going on in VIetnam.  He still keeps in touch with the guys he served with, and the families of those that died from his unit.  It's awesome to see someone so dedicated to service.  My grandfater was also in the Army, and I'll even give a shout out to stupid ex husband, because he was in Kuwait during the first Desert Storm.  I hope that our government gets it together and gets our people out of countries that we have no business being in.  It's sad that every day our men and women are killed and we have grown used to hearing about it.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good Morning All,

I'm having protein hot chocolate this morning . . it's chilly out there, I was just out with the dogs.

I head to Flint to see the surgeon this afternoon and should have his blessing to return to work on Friday . . which would be the start of my work week.

QOTD- My dad was in the Army for 6 years when I was little.  My son, Kevin just finished his four years in the Marines Corps., serving in Iraq twice.  I am thankful to God for the ones *****turned and pray for the families of the ones who didn't.  Kevin is heading to North Carolina tomorrow for a reunion of the group from Iraq . . they all share a common bond now.

Have a blessed day,

Kristy

Good morning! I haven't been around the past couple days.  Dub and I spent the night at the inlaws Monday night.  I didn't get online much while I was there.  Totally OFF TOPIC, but I have to tell you that Dub is ABOUT to crawl!  He's so close and it's so funny to see him figuring this out little by little, each day!  He's amazing (biased, I know...but that's ok!)

QOTD:  My hubby is a Desert Storm Vet.  He was in the regular Army for 4 years - 82nd Airborne.  Then he was in the MI National Guard for 8 years in the only airborne Guard unit in MI.  So he jumped out of airplanes(and anything else they could) for 12 years.   My cousin has done 2 tours in Iraq as a Marine.  Their unit wa**** with IED's and he lost some friends.  My other cousin is in the Army and has done 2 tours in Iraq and a tour in Afghanistan.  I have several uncles who all served, as did my dad (Navy).  My hubby's grandfather fought in the Battle of the Bulge in WWII and actually has a captured Nazi flag.  Well, he has passed away, so I think his uncle or cousin has it, now.  It's pretty amazing to see.

My father in law joined the Air Force in 69 before his draft number came up.  He went out to celebrate (got drunk) and ANOTHER drunk driver t-boned the car he was riding in.  Subsequently, he was medically discharged from the Air Force, 12 hours after he enlisted.  He was in the hospital for months and still has screws in his hips.  He was then drafted by the Army, twice, and had to go in both times, on crutches, in casts before they would let him out of the draft requirement.  Crazy!

ETA:  My FIL was NOT driving drunk...he was a passenger in the car that got hit by a drunk.

Good Morning All,

I have my 3 month check up later today.  I will find out how my blood work turned out.  I am very anxious to find out how I'm doing.  I feel good though.

My late husband was in the Navy for 12 years.  He served proudly and we always had a Flag flying.  When we moved into our new house one of the first things my son did was put our Flag up.  My dad served four years he was sent to Italy.  My FIL served 20 years in the Navy.  Most of his time was on a ship, he was a radio man.  My BIL served 20 years, he served in Iraq the first time.  He was an Air traffic controller.  My BIL and SIL also served 4 years.  My niece is a nurse in the Navy, she is in Maryland.  My nephew flies a Black Hawk.  He and his friends were on a mission in two separate Black Hawks and he seen his friends get shot down.  There were no survivors.  He has never spoke of it.  I am grateful to all of those who have served.  Freedom has never been free. I believe most Americans take our lifestyle for granted and forget who has paid the price for it and how.

Morning all,

Finished my shake a while ago, now on to iced tea and some trail mix.

Q:  No one in my immediately family has served, my Dad was born blind in one eye so they did not want him, but 3 of his brothers served and my cousin's husband is currently in the Marines.

I am so proud of all our Military people and their families, the sacrifices they make are great.  My heart goes out to all of those who have lost their lives to make us free.  It's a scary world out there and we are so fortunate to have those willing to serve to keep us safe.

Have a great day all,

Edie

Afternoon, all.  Just finishing my morning coffee and taking a quick break at work.

QOTD-Are you a veteran or who's a veteran in your life? My brother served in the navy as did my brother-in-law.  And my nephew is in the army now, to be deployed to either Iraq or Afghanistan after the new year.
