Dr. Stuart Verseman, K-zoo, MI?
When I first started researching area surgeons, I was pretty set on Dr. Saber, but it seems he is leaving the area so I'm going with an equally qualified, but 2nd choice Dr. Verseman. What wonderful things can you tell me about him? What really not so great things? What surgery did you have with him? How was the whole process? Details! I need details!

Hi Mel,
I had the Lap-band. Dr Verseman is the best surgeon you would want for your WLS. He is very skilled at what he does. He is so caring and compassionate about his patients. He really spends a lot time with you to make sure that you are making an informed choice about your surgery. He makes sure that you know exactly what is expected from you pre and post-op. A lot of medical people have had him for their WLS and they know who is really good at what they do.
The only not-so-good thing I can say is he is really conservative with his patients. For example, he has a long period of pre-op liquid diet and he doesn't allow a lot of things post-op forever, like soda and caffiene.
However, I think his being this way makes sure you don't have any undue complications that would hinder your progress.
If you click on his name under my picture, it will bring you to Dr. Verseman's page where you can find the tab that has more patient reviews on him.
I absolutely love Dr. V as does a lot of his patients. I wouldn't go to anyone else for surgery. He's the best.

I've read the reviews on his page I don't know how many times. Over and over. I asked here only because I wanted to be sure there was nothing that would truly surprise me about him after reading all of the raving reviews.
Speaking of the pre-op diet, I heard/read somewhere that it is 1 month of liquids. Is that right? If so then wow. That's going to be H-A-R-D!
