hi everybody.... i know its been A LONG time since i posted...

so i called GHP to see what to do next with part two of surgery (turning my VSG into a Duodenal Switch) and asked a few questions  about it....

i was told that as of April 2009., individual coverage insurance policies no llonger cover Bariatric Surgery.... WTF?!?!?!?

is anyone aware of this??.... im so frustrated now!!

im so sick of insurance companies changing **** without notifying anyone...

Hi Jen,

Can you call Dr Bakers office and talk to their insurance specialist?  They can be your advocate and get the details for you that way she can maybe explain it to you better.  That would suck not being able to finish your surgery.

yeah i called there and talked to his insurance coordinator AND with the surgical coordinator both....

im gonna wait and see what this Health One Financial crap is about to see what to do next...

yea... I think that is accurate though... a few months ago when I started this journey everywhere I went they said if you have your own insurance policy you bought that it will nto cover any bariatric surgeries....  it makes NO sense  and it's stupid and unfair....   Im sorry.  I hope you get something figured out!
