Thursday Morning Coffee
WOW, here it is, almost mid-morning and no coffee post! Where is everyone? Are you having your morning wake-up juice? Black and decaf for me!!
Prayers to Mary as she joins the group of losers here on OH......
QOTD-What are you giving out for trick-or-treat this year? I got the mini popcorn bags at Sam's club this year. Love 'em because if there are leftovers, it will be a healthy leftover. Plus, they have a very long shelf life.
Busy Thursday as I get an afternoon with the students.
Everybody have a good one!

Morning Deb and all.

I'm so glad it's Thursday. I am going to try to go get a pedicure tonight, and then sit my butt on the couch and watch Survivor. It's been a long week!
QOTD-I was afraid to buy Halloween candy this year. Everyone in the house always ends up eating it before Halloween and then I have to buy more. This year, I got glow necklaces and small bags of pretzels. I just read that a dentist's office in Westland is paying kids $1 per pound for their Halloween candy (max of 5 lbs.) and then sending the candy to the troops overseas. What a cool idea.
Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning Deb and everyone to follow. I drank 16 oz of SF Grape Koolaid at home and just got to work and make some protien coffee....that's 32 oz down and 32 oz more to go today! I'm really trying to increase my liquids as I have been at a stall going on 3 weeks! I am getting in 80-120 grams of protien a day and exercising 4-5 days a week and my calories are around 900-1000 a day so the only thing that I can think of that is causing my stall is my lack of liquids.
QOTD: I'll be down in Chelsea so Steve bought a bunch of candy, some individual bags of animal crackers. The leftovers will stay at his house :-)
Have a good day everyone!

Cool Tina! Maybe you'll be trick or treating in our neighborhood!! He lives in a neighborhood with lots and lots of kids (off Freer Rd).
I never get trick or treaters at my house so I haven't passed out candy in the last 7 years since I moved in after my divorce. I'm looking forward to seeing all the costumes and cute kids!!

Jan - here's my typical day...and I tend to eat the same thing day in and day out...which also may be contributing to my stahl !
Protein coffee made w/ 1 scoop of Body Fortress = 26 grams pro, 130 cal
Carbmaster yogurt for breakfast = 12 grams pro, 80 cal
1/2 cup cottage cheese for morning snack = 15 grams pro, 110 cal
Tunafish w/mayo on whole wheat crackers for lunch = 15 grams pro; 150 cal
Vanilla protien shake afternoon snack = 34 grams pro; 220 cal
Chili w/ 1/4 cup shredded cheese for dinner = 34 grams pro; 450 cal
So that's 136 grams protien and 1140 calories. Some days I do a salad a lunch instead of the tuna & crackers. Maybe I'm eating too many calories at 7 1/2 months out???? I'll take any suggestions to get the scale moving again!

Wow, doesn't seem too hard when you look at it like this. I think I'll try your diet for a while. Your vanilla protein shake in the afternoon, is it Body Fortress made with milk? Do you make the chili from a recipe from EggFace? How do you figure the protein grams?
My surgeon said to stay aroun 1200 calories. I told him I'm at about 900 and he said that's good for now, but to increase the calories slowly.
Maybe you need to change up your diet to get out of the stall. I'm stalling too, but it's because I'm not being as diligent. My Bad...

Jan - yep, the protien shake in the afternoon is just 8 oz of skim milk with a scoop of vanilla Body Fortress.
The chili isn't Eggface's but a recipe someone else gave here on OH. It is sooooo good. I made it for the Bay City Support group meeting when I hosted it last month and everyone seemed to like it. To be honest, I just took stats off of Daily Plate for chili. If you look up homemade chili or Wendy's chili, they are all about the same (25-30 grams of protien for a cup) and then when I add 1/4 cup cheese it boosts it a little more.
Here's the chili recipe.... for the mixed bag of sweet pepers, I bought a fresh red, yellow and orange pepper and choped those up. I also also added a small cann (maybe 15 oz??) of the Brooks chili mix. And I made mine with ground turkey instead of beef.
2 cans Bushes new spicy red kidney beans
2 cans chili spiced stewed tomatos
1 whole sweet onion
Mixed bag of sweet peppers with seeds, (reds, yellows, greens)
1.5 lbs 93/7 ground beef
Mcormicks pk of chili mix
chili powder to taste
white corn frozen
Brown meat
mix all together add water, simmer for 45 minutes
