Well, I'm nursing my coffee with milk this morning and finishing up this paper for my economics class this evening. Later on I have an appointment with the internist at the Beaumont Weight Management Center. It's not for any real purpose, they just told me that it helps with insurance or something if you keep you monthly appointments.
My surgeon's office just sent my stuff to the ins. company so I'm spending most of my days waiting on tenterhooks (and meanwhile calling my case manager).
QOTD: Last week I had something which might have the flu. My brother was home from college in Iowa on Fall break and brought his dorm room germs (and one of the guys on his floor had apparently just had H1N1) in here. Ick! I'm kind of hoping that it was H1N1 because it wasn't that serious and I'm fine now. They say for most people that's what it's like, and then, like the chicken pox, you have immunity.
I haven't gotten the shots yet, but probably will soon...
Have a great day everyone!

Good Midmoring Everyone,
I am having a late start to my day. Having trouble sleeping was up at 6am then decided to go back to bed. I will have to get this under control. I am going to be having some protein chai tea after my oatmeal. Then start on my water so I can exercise. I didn't get a flu shot this year. Both my kids had a cold already I am waitng for my husband to get sick he does every year. I am not sure if I am getting one this year or not. I hope Pam's grandma and Kristi are doing well. Mary I am so excited for you tomorrow will be here before you know it. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Good morning. Had my coffee...contemplating what to have for breakfast. Probably end up having peanut butter on toast. Seems to be my "go to" meal, lately. Trying to decide what to do today. We need to get out of the house for a bit. Maybe a trip to the library.
QOTD: I never got a flu shot until I got pregnant, last year. I got this year's seasonal flu shot a month or so ago. Hubby and I are both getting the H1N1 shot eventually. Our PCP recommended us getting it and NOT Dub. I wasn't planning on him getting the vax anyway, but I figure it's a small way to protect him from it. My inlaws fall into that category of being exposed to it back in the 70's so they don't need it. My sis in law is a teacher and is pregnant, so I'm pretty sure she's getting it. My oldest niece lives in Poland. We were discussing this the other day and she said over there, it's just not a big deal. They don't understand why the U.S. is making such a big deal about the "swine" flu.

I kind of have to agree. I think that alot of people are getting worked up over nothing for the swine flu.. I understand people are getting sick and dieing but there are people every year that get sick and die every year from the regular flu. I think alot of ERs are getting clogged with people that have the regular flu that are afraid it is the H1N1 and are coming in there because they are scared. I think the news has way overdone this and has caused people to be so alarmed. I defiantely think that has played a MAJOR role in this pandomodium that is going on!
I personally cannot get the regular flu shot even though I am suppose to get it because I suffer from allergies. I always get sick from it. I am sticking to the old rule of washing hands regularly and for a full 30 seconds and I am covering my mouth when I cough or sneeze. I think with all the people heading out to the ERs and to the Drs for the regular flu symptoms that is why it is spreading so fast with everyone! Typically people tend to stay home and get well instead of heading out because they think they have swine flu...
My DH has a great resolution to the swine flu.. he says eat Cured Ham! ROFL
** Sorry if I ruffed any feathers just my opinion!

From everything I've heard, the seasonal flu kills more people than the swine flu. Plus, I've heard that if you go in to the ER with flu symptoms, they aren't testing to see which type it is, just "assuming" it's swine flu. If h1n1 is such a problem, I would think "they" would want to know exactly what/or how much they are dealing with. If I were still teaching, I would probably get the shot anyway. However, I can't help but think that I should get the shot now, to keep me from getting sick and in turn, keep Dub from getting sick. OR we could just stay inside all winter!
Oh, I did read that gargling with warm sal****er OR Listerine will help protect from the flu. The mouth, nose and eyes are the main points of infection, so wash your hands A LOT and avoid touching those parts of your face....um, nearly impossible with a baby that constantly CHEWS on his hands and wants to chew on mine, too!

oh I totally agree... I think they run that test and assume it because from everything that the news says you are down for DAYS with the swine flu but I have heard people that have the swine flu but are feeling better in 3-4 days.. I know that there are severe cases out there but still ya know.
I agree if I was working in the schools alot this year I would be getting it to but because I am fostering I cannot work that much there. However I am wondering how the regulations will change for us as foster parents caring for small children... We are waiting for word on that one as well. Definately kids are little virus machines!! LOL
