Wednesday Wake-up Call

Good Morning everyone!
Time to wake up! What's brewing in your mug this morning? Same old decaf and black once I get done with my morning oatmeal......
Hasn't it been a gorgeous fall? Love the colors lately. Just love the colors and smell of fall.
QOTD-Have you had any problems, so far, this fall with the flu with either you or your family? Have you got the flu shot yet? There have been a few school closings around here, last week, with the flu. My girlfriend, who works ER, says they have been swamped with people having the flu. I have had my seasonal flu shot, but not the H1N1. Want to get it as I watch my baby grandson atleast once a week. Had a touch of something over the weekend, but feel much better. Hope no one else has been ill.
Take good care of yourselves!

Morning Deb and fellow Michiganders:
I am having my decaf green tea this morning.  Off soon to Kalamazoo to have an EMG (nerve study) on the sciatic nerve that was damaged during my hip revision surgery in July......ended up with "drop foot" and it is not improving as it should.  Hopefully he will find out why.

I love fall too, but not getting all the leaves out of my yard.....

I got my flu shot early on.   They are saying us older folks really don't need the H1N1 shot....so I don't think I will get one......I'm 70.

Have a great day,
Pat r.

Good morning Deb and everyone else who chimes in.

Having Special K2O protein water for breakfasts. and for lunch chicken broth and for dinner beef broth, and for snacks more protein water and maybe a few SF jellos and Popsicles somewhere in between. LOL Nothing but clears for me toady. Just a few hours to go .
I will pack my bag and wait for the time to check in call today. Most of the day I will spend as much time with my family as possible.  Hubby is home and will be until after surgery, the kids work today and will be off tomorrow. Unbelievably I am not worried. Just anxious at this point.

QOTD: since the day that they called to change my apt. to the 29TH. My daughter had the sniffles for a few days, them my son had them, Hubby got them last week but he was over the road. Everyone has taken Tylenol severe sinus/cold. And I have avoided them like the plague. I think all the vitamins I take have kept me free of the germs that they are spreading around here.
I think all they have heard me say for the last two weeks are "COVER YOUR MOUTH AND DON'T SNEEZE BY ME" or  " IF YOU SICK GO TO YOUR ROOM"
Sneezy

have a wonderful healthy flue free day everyone.

Pam Hope your Grammy is doing good
and Kristy can't wait for you to come back on line. Hope your healing well!

Good Morning!
Yesterday was a good day.  Actually saw the sun.  All of the trees in my yard are bare already from the wind we had last week.  The front yard is clear of leaves, and the back yard is half done.  The colors around the lake are beautiful.
I'm really worried about my hand going numb, actually just the baby and fing fingers, left hand.  Has any one ever experienced this?  My surgeon said it could be neuropathy from the Actigall that I was taking for three months after surgery, but I really wonder.  I'm thinking he just didn't want to deal with it and fluffed me off.
QOTD-  I'm knocking on wood right now.  No problems with the flu around here.  I got my flu shot in early October but not the H1N1 yet.  I'm thinking I'll get that when I see my pcp in November for my check up.  I have my first grandson due in early December and the kids want me to come and help out for a couple of weeks, so I want to be sure to have my shot.

Jan - Yes, I did experience that.  I started getting numbness in my fingertips and then in my feet.  Come to find out, my vitamin B levels were low so they had me start doing B12 Sublingual.  Now, I take B12 shots monthly.

I do the B12 sublingunal.  Just had my labs done and my B12 was >1500 which is high so he's having me cut down a bit on my B12.

Good Morning everyone.
IAWDW (I'm at work drinking water)
I have dug myself into a hole here and I'm trying to get out.  I let stuff pile up at work because I can't fix it or can't pay this bill or that bill.....so now I have MONTHS worth of stuff piled up in front of me and just can't get motivated to tackle it.  I have to get something done today!

QOTD-I just got the H1N1 and regular shot for Nick on Monday.  Because he is in a class with kids that have compromised immune systems and those that live in group homes, he is more susceptible to the flu.  U of M kept telling me that there were no vaccines available, and all of the sudden, out of nowhere, a doc offers it to us for Nick at an appointment on Monday.  I have not decided if I'm going to get my 15 year old vaccinated.  He has had the regular flu shot, but I'm kind of leery of the H1N1 for him.  I don't like all the junk they have in them.  I haven't gotten my shot yet.  I guess I should, but I just don't have the time.

I just found out that if I go ahead with my revision I will be on a liquid diet for one week pre op.  I don't know how you guys are doing it.  I didn't have to with my initial RNY.  I know I couldn't have done it back then.  I guess I don't really have a choice, do I?

Pam-thinking of Grandma....hope all turns out well for her.

You guys getting ready for surgery-make sure you take your pictures!!

U of M told us to call back the first week of November because they didn't have the seasonal or swine vax.  I already got my seasonal a little while back, but AJ needs his.  We could've gone to the ISD last night and gotten the h1n1 vax for free, but I wasn't feeling good and figured I would just wait til my PCP had it.  Wonder if the pediatrician's office would have it?

East Ann Arbor Peds only has the nasal vax for 2-4 year olds so far.  They told me to keep calling, but now I don't have to.

Hmmm...the nasal vax is the live one.   I'm going to call my pediatrician's office, but they probably don't have it, yet, either.
