I had weight loss surgery in March of 2006, I had lost 169lbs. In March of this year I became unemployed and since then have gained 30lbs. I would like to know if anyone out there has gained weight, and what did you do to get it back off? Also I need to get back to the basics but cant remember what they are any help would be great.

thank in advance

Marie,

Congrats on the initial loss...wow what an accomplishment!

The basics are protein first, minimum 60 grams a day, followed by veg's, then carbs if you still have room.  Also get in your fluids, I believe it's 75 oz a day minimum and lastly exercise, more days than not.

You can use an on line calorie counting system like fitday.com that will help you monitor your calorie consumption, it also tracks your protein, carbs and fat's, so you know what your really putting in your mouth, and it's free!

If you can find a face to face support group that is helpful, but stay on here....this is a great forum, you can also go to the forum for your specific surgery, there's always allot of activity on those boards.....to much for me, but their very helpful too.

Good luck,

Edie
