What happens after EGD???

I am scheduled for an EGD this Friday, October 9th and I called my surgeon office to see how soon after the EGD can I be scheduled for my RNY since I would love to walk during commencement exercises at CMU this December 12th.  My insurance approved me back in August. My blood work was done just finish last week taking the prevpak for the positive H-Pylori test and my PCP submitted her approval forms so why would I have to wait nearly 4-6 weeks?  Did this happen to anyone else? I'm excited but now getting pissed.  I also attended back in September a seminar.

first off -- congrats on Dr. Kole.  He assisted my surgeon and is now managing my post-op care.
If you've been pre-approved by your insurance and everything else is coming back clear I don't know what the hold up would be.  Be honest when you talk to the office about your hopes and ask what the delay is in scheduling.  Your blood work will only last so long before they'll need to do it again so I question if it really will be 4-6 weeks.
Your day will come, one of the best decisions I ever made for myself!

Thank you so much saxman007.  I believe the receptionist was just giving me the formalities that potential patients go through.  I was told by BCBS that I was approved and on September 30th they receive a call that I met all the criterias a person must go through so I'll just keep hope alive and pray all goes well on Friday with the EGD.
