I weighed my self before going in my birthday suit.I weighed in at 190 which is slightly overweight!WOOHOO!I went to my docs office weighed in at 193I hope I was wearing three pounds of clothes because they make you remove your shoes.Anywho,my labs were all normal and I asked if I could stop with the iron now. They advised me to try one a day instead of two then in three months we could see how I did. When my head catches up I will feel better because my self image still is not right. Is anyone else experiencing this?I have a large flap due to all my weight was held in that area. Thanks for listening to me rant.I will weihg myself in the morning again if it is truly 190 I get to update my tickerYES!

You have done a great job Danielle!  Almost 200 pounds in 9 months is mind blowing.  It must be wonderful to be in wonderland.  I just can't seem to break that barrier.  I understand about the head thing too.  I also had the other issue, I never saw myself as FAT as I really was either.

Congratulations on a great 9 months.

I felt that way too.  I knew I weight x amount and was fat but I just never felt that fat!  It's starting to become more obvious as I am returning to doing things I couldn't before...you know the small stuff!

Even at 365 I still thought of myself as a size 12.  lol.  In my head I never changed from high school.  Congrats on your loss.

Wwwhhhooooo Danielle!!!!!!!!!!!

Most insurances will pay for a panni removal so when you are ready to or want/need that done I think you will feel better about your body.

My head still hasn't caught up with my smaller body. They say it could take years. LOL

But...I never saw myself as a fat person anyway, I truly had reverse body dysmorphia, I always thought I was a size 20 when in fact I was a size 26/28.

Again, you have done amazing...Star Performer you are!!!!!!!!!

Danielle -

You have done AMAZINGLY well.  I see NO reason whatsoever for a rant here.  :-)

Ignore the 193 - it doesn't count.  If your home scale is your official scale for tracking your weight loss, then any other scale you weigh on means absolutely nothing.  All scales weigh differently and are calibrated differently.... so only use your one official one.  So it's 190 for you baby!  WooHoo!

We'll probably be on iron forever.  So being able to cut back to one per day is a blessing, but don't count on ever being off it.  There are two spots in the digestive tract that absorb iron... both are bypassed.  So it's practically impossible for us to absorb iron from any food we eat - therefore we need supplements.

Dr. Williams at Hurley (psych) tells us often that it takes five years for our brain to catch up with the weight loss of our body.  So having self image issues is completely normal and expected.  We just have to work little by little to accept our new body and try to see the changes we've made.  For me, pictures help the most.  When I look in the mirror I still see the fat girl most of the time, but when I look at pictures, it's a lot easier to see how I've done.

Congratulations on your progress.

Pam
