Brenda, I had that scope done too. As others said it was no big deal, for me. They sprayed my throat and I was chatting with the dr. He must of gave them the nod to knock me out because the next thing I remember was hubby waking me up and asking me if I was ready to go. I was a little tired the rest of the day, but other than that. nothing. Good luck to you I hope you get to find out what is going on with your pouch. :)

Brenda,
I am the biggest gagger known to man (I get kiddie x-rays at the dentist)...trust me if you go in for a procedure and they don't want to sedate you, when you start gagging and possible throwing up, they'll sedate you LOL!
There are a couple of revisions you could look into, I don't know anyone around here that does them, but I haven't looked into it either. I belong to a few Yahoo gbs support groups and they talk about the procedures allot. Next time it pops up I'll make sure I tell you about them. But for right now, I think one procedure is named the ROSE procedure (can't remember if that is the preferred one or not). They tighten up your lower opening (sorry can't remember the technical word right now and I don't have time to look it up), so that food stays put and you have saity longer.
I'm with you though if U of M is deserting you, leave them! Ask on these boards who likes their surgeon.
Good luck,
Edie
