I already had a cup of coffee at 5 am.  I am always up early and online by myself :(

QOTD:  Most people I know are supportive and make nice comments.  However, I do not have any friends to speak of.  I spend my time with my kids and my parents.  I do not have any support from them (well my kids support me but that's different).  If I talk about my success their reply is silence.  If I complain their reply is "You should never have done it (wls)!" or something equally mean.

I am trying to be more independant from them for my mental health.  It's not a good thing we got going on.  Friday I was so proud of myself...I told my mother as nicely as possible how I feel when she does that to me.  Now she adds sarcasim to her normal rude comments.  You just can't win.  I still love her but she doesn't make it easy...she lives right next door to me too lol.

Good morning all!

I took benedryl this morning to help ward off another 4-day sneezing fest that I felt coming on.  But now I'm drowsy.  Hopefully I won't have to curl up under my desk for a cat nap.

QOTD -- No, I don't believe I have anyone in my life who sabotages my weight loss.  Everyone is very supportive.  But really I don't have many folks around me who would have enough influence over me to sabotage me anyway.  Being single has its advantages, I suppose.

I've been up since 7:00 when my internal clock goes off.  Last night I addressed the invitations for my DIL's baby shower and spent time on line.  Computers could really become an addiction, with access to the internet, games, support groups (OH) etc.
Nothing by mouth yet.  I'm hungry, but can't decide what to have for breakfast.  I'm leaning toward cottage cheese.  oh yum. boring....
QOTD-  I've not yet met with any sabotage.  When I went to poker with the girls, I just asked the hostess to remove some of the pulled pork for me before she added the Sweet Baby Rays bbq sauce.  That's my absolute favorite bbq sauce, but I'm sure there is too much sugar in it for me to tolerate right now.  The food and snacks are on the table, but I don't have a problem leaving them there right now.  We'll see what happens this month (poker on Monday).  I think she said she's going to have a nice salad and make tomato pie (which is fantastic).  I'll just go with the flow, they are all mostly plus sized ladies and they're really trying to help me and encourage me in this journey.

When I first read the recipe it sounded too involved, but I made it and it really wasn't hard to make at all.  And it certainly is yummy.  I'm looking forward to having a piece on Monday.  I'm sure she won't make it 'lite', but I'll limit myself :)

Yummy Tomato Pie

4-5 Good sized ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded & sliced thickly (use enough to fill the pie dish)
1/4 cup mixed herbs (or more as desired) first time I had it she used lemon thyme, parsley and basil.
1 cup grated cheese (any kind) she had used the four Italian blend
1 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 recipe buttermilk biscuit dough
salt & pepper to taste

Biscuit Dough
1 3/4 cup flour, 1 teasp salt, 2 teasp. baking powder, 1/2 teasp sugar,
1/2 teasp baking soda, 2 Tbls. shorteniing, 3Tbls. butter 2/3-3/4 cup buttermilk

Place tomatoes on paper towels to drain for about 20 minutes after slicing while
preparing the biscuit dough.  Wash, chop & set aside the herbs.  In a small bowl combine the cheese of choice, mayo & parm & set aside.  To prepare the dough, combine dry ingreadients.  Cut in the lard and butter until coarse crumbs form.  Add 2/3 cup of buttermilk & mix.  If it seems too dry add more buttermilk.  Pat dough into the bottom and sides of a 10 inch pie plate.
Preheat oven to 375.  Layer tomatoes on the crust, salt pepper and add herbs.  Spread the mayo mixture over the tomatoes.  Bake in lower part of the oven for 25 minutes or until the top is golden.  Remove, slice and serve.

You can vary the herb combinations as follows with the cheese as indicated.
Cheddar cheese - chives, dill, parsley
Swiss cheese - thyme & marjoram
Gouda - oregano, cilantro & parsley
Edam - tarragon or basil
Fontina - lemon thyme, rosemary or parsley
Stilton - thyme & basil

It is what it is.
If He brings you to it, He'll bring you through it...

Good Morning All

I went to a support meeting last night.  What a snore that was, we talked for an HOUR about calcium.  Yawn..  Oh well here's hoping for something a little more interesting next month.  One more day and then I am off for three.  Yay, I think I am going to do some painting in the master bedroom, if the boys are good. lol.

QOTD -  I don't think I have anyone who does that.  Or they are so good at it I don't realize what they are doing. lol.

Good Morning!
I'm drinking water this morning and keeping busy around the house.

OQTD- I haven't had any sabotage on this wonderful journey but my GD does ask me a lot to taste her treat's and then she will say  "never mind it's sugar"!

Have a great day!

Good morning, all!  I've been hanging at the inlaws (well,me, hubby and dub) since Monday.  It adds 30 minutes to my hubby's drive to work, but we just felt like spending a couple days here.  Going home sometime this afternoon.  Hubby's at work.  We've only been here 2 days, but it feels like a week.  We love coming here.  We've seriously been thinking about moving back to Hillsdale, but hubby works in Livonia and it's just too far to drive EVERYDAY!  I had my Starbucks at 5AM and a little more around 10, after I woke up from a nap...lol!

QOTD:  I am fortunate to say that I really don't have anyone in my life that has tried to sabotage me.  Everyone is very supportive, so I'm very grateful for that!

Good Morning everyone

QOTD: Saboteurs? some times I think that those who are saboteur's aren't doing it on purpose. They are just stuck in old ways.
Like my DH. he is a meat and potatoes man, likes his pie and cool whip. When he is home he goes to the store and buys a bunch of junk and pig out. Well it use to be that when he went back on the road that we would finish off the left overs. But now when he get in what ever he left is still sitting here. He'll ask nobody ate any of this or that. It usually has mold on it cause no one has touched it. LOL.

Or my BF invited me to lunch with her. She is also trying to lose weight. The conventional way. The restaurant she chose, was a little whole in the wall coney Island. the menu had absolutely nothing I could or would eat on it. so I had Water and stopped at KFC and got a grilled chicken breast late.
The friend can't understand why she hasn't lost any lbs. yet????????

well last year I applied for some jobs on line after I retired. since I am a little to young to be retired. Today I received a phone call and will be going to an orientation for the job tomorrow.
Hope they don't mind me taking time off for surgery.??????????
