Hello everyone!
I'm enjoying a relaxing afternoon, watching the Lions and the Tigers and catching up on laundry.
QOTD: I consider myself a pretty good cook. I learned from my mom. My problem is I grew up with a large family (6 kids) so when I cook, I always cook way to much. I also feel like I make the same things over and over again for my two boys who live at home. I need to be more creative and try new recipes.

I'm the same way, Nan. It's hard to cook for two. LOL! And I get in such a rut with food, too. Hubby is currently following South Beach and I am not because I'm breastfeeding. I get WAY too hungry all the time. So we're eating a bit differently. He's eating fish like it's going out of style...gag me!

Hi Everyone Hope your day is good.
Hubby is in from TX. So this morning we went to the flea market. No great fins though. After we went to the fruit market and bought a bunch of squash. I got this really big one called Harmon's or something. It looked like a big gourd. Kind of gray on the out side but like regular squash on the inside. also got a bunch of other veggies and some fruit too.
When we got back I cooked that big bad baby up in the oven and now I got squash for the next year. so I froze some. Made hubby favorite Lasagna and some Brussels sprouts. I wanted to make them better so I chopped up some Onion's and Bacon and fried that in a pan then put it in with the Brussels sprouts and baked them for an Hour. I called them country style sprouts. Hubby said
"What did YOU Do to MY Brussels sprouts?" I said I fixed them! Well after one bite he went back for 2ND and third. and now they are all gone. Hum What did I do to his sprouts.
I had squash and chicken and about 5 of those sprouts. They were fantastic.!
QOTD: I have been told that I am a good cook. When I was younger I worked in a lot of different restaurants so I picked a lot of there. Then My Father was a cook when he was in the army and he taught me how to bake many yrs later. My Father n Law taught me to make pies, and Fry Chicken southern style. (You got to shake the chicken in the seasoning in a Brown PAPER BAG that's the secret ) My Mother was Polish so I got a wonderful education in polish cooking form her.
My Hubby makes a mean Meatloaf and chili soup. I make meat loaf and it is OK I make it the same way Hubby does but, even if the kids don't know who made it, they will always say (That's not Dad's Meat Loaf!) He has even sat right there and told me exactly what to do. They still know.
I love to bake and even do cake decorating, Made a few wedding cakes and birthday cakes for friends and family. Use to teach cake decorating at the craft shop too. Got kind of burned out on the goodies because when I taught I had to bake a cake every other day. But I love pie.
So I don't know if I am a good cook, however, they keep returning back for more.
(any one know how Tunafish's cousin's baby is doing?)
