Sunday Stuff

Good Morning!
Today was my "sleep in" day, but Nick and dog decided they would come and spend some time with me.  I suppose I can catch a nap later.

What's everyone up to today?  I have to do my usual Sunday stuff.....cleaning, getting lunches ready for the next week etc.

QOTD-Do you know how to cook well?  If so, how did you learn?
Everything I know, I learned from Food Network.  I don't like the way my family cooks at all, so I started watching TV cooking shows when I was a kid.  The funny thing is, I don't like anything, so I cook stuff for my family and never taste it.  They say they like it.........I hope it's true. LOL  I make two soups a week for Nick to take in his lunch, since the school lunch is so nasty.   I have made every kind of soup on the planet!  But hubby always has to taste them for me, because I make stuff like spinach and tomato or chicken corn chowder, and I just don't like stuff like that.

Hope you all enjoy your day!!!

Morning

I am up and at em with Ladybug and just catching up on some of my DVR shows before I start my day.

I am going to do some baking today. And then maybe go spend some time out in the yard. I have some small projects out there I want to work on. Otherwise it is just a relaxing day around here pretty much.

QOTD: I learned to cook when I was a teenager by trial and error since my Mom was working. I have perfected it however since I have become an adult. My family usually loves my cooking. I try new recipes and then I start to tweek it and make my own. I am better at baking then anything else. Usually at Christmas I make about 18 different kinds of cookies and give to family and friends. I love baking during the holidays!

I love making cookies at christmastime!  I used to make HUNDREDS for gifts for my hubby's employees.  I did that for about 4 or 5 years, but not anymore as he way too many now.  But I still enjoy it and usually make several batches of my family's faves for holiday get togethers.

Morning all!

I woke up this morning to the smells of breakfast!  Too bad I couldn't enjoy the pancakes hubby made.  So I made my own from cottage cheese and oatmeal....they were pretty good.

Today I'm going to catch up on the laundry and the yard work.

QOTD:  I learned to cook early on.  My mom worked until 5 and we all ate together but with being in sports dinner had to be made early so my sister and I took on the duty.  Now that I'm older and have my own family I've been watching Food Network to learn new recipes.  Also scouring the internet now for healthy ones so we can all eat together again.

Good morning Michigan
gorgeous day here in Owosso!!   My favorite time of year!   but then I probably say it every season since every season has its own beauty and joys.
Nothing exciting here.  Hubby has to work 12 hrs  so we are in for a grumpy evening.
I am going to make his favorite pork roast with onions.carrots and mushrooms.  and garlic bread and will just leave him alone.  best way to survive the grumpies from tired men!!!     If he wants something  he lets me know.    My Bitty boots has to help cook for her hero  so she is washing the mushrooms and carrots!!!   good job for a 3 yr old.
major breakthrough with Bitty Boots  last night!!!   Her grandpa (her abuser) found us or rather her and showed up here.   Bitty boots saw him first,   went zipping right past Mary,(my babysitter angel) and myself right straight to Steve,  literally climbed up him and demanded that he make him GO AWAY RIGHT NOW!!!     Bitty boots actually went to Steve on her own and trusted him to protect her!!!    Major breakthrough!!!    Police came for the bad guy,   All is well!!I

QOTD   I started cooking before I can remember   Mom is a great cook and all of us learned early and are pretty good,   though I learned to cook for 7 and have trouble cooking for 2 or 3!
Have a great day everyone

Good morning, or rather afternoon from Rome Italy!  Its been a slow day, and our last one here, everyone is gearing down and getting ready to come home.

QOTD:  No - I've never considered myself to get a good cook.  I can cook well enough to get by, but not usually adventerous and actually quit cooking about 13 years ago when my then husband looked at dinner and said "what am I going to have" - i said "thats it - you're doing the cooking from now on" and he said ok... so he did.  Now I'm on my own, I do enjoy making a meal every now and then and it surprises my son a lot when i do - because he isn't used to me doing it, and even more surprised when it tastes good....  I told him I've always been able to cook - just haven't done it much....

Jo - I'm glad a major breakthrough came your way - all children should have someone they can totally trust to take care of them.
