Thursday Morning Coffee
QOTD: Along with the fining people for going the speed limit in the "fast lane", I would fine people that whip out in front of me and then go 10 mph below the speed limit, when they could've waited a few more seconds and pulled out AFTER me since NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME!!!! Grrrrrr.....That's so annoying.
Oh and people that go like one speed regardless of speed limit. 25 mph speed zone? Let's go 45! 70 mph speed zone? Let's go 55! I know someone who does this and they are constantly telling me how much gas I would save if I drove 55 on the freeway. I ignore them. I spent 9 years commuting 100 miles a day. I do not miss I-94 at all!

If you haven't checked out my "Day in the Life" post from yesterday - here's the link. It was a hoot to do and I definitely won't be doing it again anytime soon. Whew! That's a lot of work to give a blow-by-blow account of everything you eat or do or think about for an entire day as it relates to WLS and my screwed up brain in general. But I think it's a pretty accurate glimpse into what my typical days are like.
QOTD -- people talking in theaters drives me nuts! They need to be fined or kicked out. I once sat a few rows in front of someone who talked on her cell phone for half the movie.... I got up and moved across the theater, but sheesh! how rude!
I'd also fine tailgaters. When I'm driving down the highway at 80mph and someone comes roaring up behind me flashing his lights and honking his horn for me to move over - when clearly there is no way for me to get into another lane - it makes me wish I had some special effects like Inspector Gadget's car and I could throw darts at his windshield or spread grease on the road or something. Grrrr!!!

Good Morning.
I am sitting at my desk reading Deb's post. I am cracking my gum BIG TIME. Uh oh. Then I read the part about "you know". I say that all the time! I try not to, but I do.
Ok, this might seem small, but it is my biggest pet peeve. I would fine every person that didn't use correct spelling and grammar. Especially on this board.....sorry :( I don't expect everyone to be perfect, but I wonder how people go out into the world and hold jobs if they can't even spell basic words or use English properly even some of the time. My dad is a hillbilly that can barely spell his own name and he was always "gettin' on us kids" for how we spoke. We weren't allowed to say "yeah" ever, for any reason. I find myself doing that to my son. Oh yeah...when my son or his friends say "prolly" instead of "probably"....that makes me want to scream!!!
Ok, tirade is over. Sorry.
Hope you all have a good day.
PS-I would be a terrible American Idol judge. I don't care how people sing (you can always doctor that up in the studio). I judge them on how they look. I would be fired immediately!
ETA:How many of you noticed that I wrote "yeah" right after I said I wasn't allowed to?
I'm so guilty of this . . . grammar and proper English . . . I got out of school by the skin of my teeth . . . and thank gosh I don't have to send memo's for my job . . . just use my mouth or I would be unemployed!
I'm always waiting for Tina the teacher to correct me . . . LOL

When it's casual, it's not a big deal. But when people come in my office and ask for an application and say "I ain't got a pen". Ohhhh that kind of stuff is what gets me!
Or if you post all the time and never ever say or spell anything so we know what you are talking about, that gets on my nerves.
Kristy, I always know what you are talking about, so don't worry! And trust me, Tina isn't always in teacher mode! LOL
My hubby claims that is why he never wrote me many letters...he was afraid they would get returned, corrected with a red pen. I never used a red pen when I was teaching...always pink or purple...so my corrections were "softer"...LOL! Besides, on here I am WAY more casual than normal.....notice all the ellipsis? (the little dots)
But as a teacher, the texting language is killing the writing the skills of our students. I tried to reinforce having a FORMAL and an INFORMAL use for language with my students. I would email them in TOTAL informal ways and then of course, they always saw FORMAL writing from me, as well. Worked for some...they got it!

Oh did I over sleep this morning. Had a rough night last night, a very close friend of my dad's passed away Sunday and we went to the funeral home last night. He is exactly one week older than my dad and passed away in his sleep. Guess it bothered me more than I have thought, it was almost 2 before I finally drifted off and then it was filled with dreams of the past.
Working on my second cup of coffee today. I normally limit to one, but don't think I can function well if I don't. Maybe I will take an extra dose of my B vitamins this afternoon to see if it will put an extra zip in my step.
QOTD - one of my favorite pet peeves, someone who pulls out in front of you and then goes really slow. Would it have hurt them to wait an extra second for the traffic to go by instead of making everyone hit their brakes? I have one older gentleman that does this every morning about the same time. I intentionally leave 5 minutes early to avoid him.
Never have watched American Idol, so I would not know if Ellen was a new judge or not. Just something I have never gotten into.
