I have to laugh at the direction this thread took.   I don't want to battle politics either,

My last Ford was actually made in Canada, so even if  you purchase from the big 3 does not mean that it is "American" made.

I had read an article a while ago that stated that most "foreign" cars are more "American" made than American branded cars.

I could rattle on, but I guess my point is how things have changed from the way it was.  I would love a good political debate, but this is not the place for it.

I'm not going to start a debate, either, but I wanted to point out 3 things:

First, after reading this post I looked at the tag in my brand-new Levi's.  They were made in Pakistan.  Seriously.

Second, there has been research that says a global economy creates competition, and therefore is good for OUR economy in the long run.

Third, the automakers have been irresponsibly running their companies for a very long time. They expected a government bailout, but then expect us all to blindly support them, just because they are located in our state.
I come from a strong union family, and still support unionized workplaces, but I also support reform that makes large corporations responsible for their business practices.

Don't even get me started on Wal Mart and how ignorant I think it is to give them your money......

The End.

Brenda,

I'm there with you sister.

If you didn't noticed on a previous post, I cannot stand Walmart.  If people paid attention to what they alone have done to our economy (especially in small towns) and how they treat women....I'm shocked when people have a choice that they choose to go there......errrrrrrrrr

Yes you did buy a recycled car. And I did not mean to offend you either.

With today's US economy We need to keep our money in the US.

But I guess that is why

So That We Have our Freedoms to Spend and buy what we want.

Good Morning. My cat ABBY just walked up the driveway like nothing ever happened.  She has been missing for 6 days!  The kids seen her while waiting for the bus and called to me.  The kids just went off on day 2 of school. My oldest turns 12 tomorrow (my youngest turns 8 on Sun)!!  I usually buy cakes but plan on baking today for them.  Any good recipes out there for something different in regards to cake?  It can be healthy.  I had my alone time this morning (i made schedules for us to help us out) with the computer and some vanilla/cinnamon coffee with splenda and creamer.  This is day 2 of coffee drinking and I am liking it.  I don't know if it's caffine free though.  It doesn't say either way in the ingredients or otherwise.  When I use it up I will be more careful.  I haven't had diet soda in over 12 hours   It's a small step.  Wish me luck getting through the day w/o it.  I ran out and decided not to buy anymore.  I am working on getting back on track with my doctor/dietician so it'll be baby steps (her words).

I read the fines QOTD this morning so I didn't post to it, but ironically with our new schedules and rules I have decided that after breaking the rules for the 3rd offense the children have to write a letter of appology &/or pay a small fine.  At our next family meeting we will decide what to do with the fines.

Today's QOTD:  This is regards to facebook.  If you do this I appologize lol.  It annoys me.  I would fine people who fill up my friend status with anything other than updates.  I mean all those farmvilles and mafia things lol.  I don't do them and I rather read about their real life.

You can block those.  I just discovered this, so I no longer see those mafia wars posts.

When you see a post that you don't want to see anymore, go to the right side of it.  Hover your mouse around and it will say "Hide".  If you click on that, it will say "Hide Brenda" or "Hide Farmville".  Choose which one you want.  You can do that for all of the quizzes, the questions about which Disney character you are, when you will die, what are your top 5 concerts......all that crap!
