Barix clinic Ypsilanti My final posting on them.

I finally saw Dr. Poplawski last week, very nice man, and no complaints about the visit that day. My understanding is that scar tissue is causing the nausea and vomiting I am experiencing after doing a swallow test.

I was scheduled for an EGD today, the time was changed twice after the inital scheduling... which is fine. The front desk staff was very unprofessional today, taking care of personal banking business on company time(she may not want to give out her debit card numbers in a public area) and another was playing a game on the internet. Once they were done they disappeared. I started to get impatient after waiting an hour past my appointment time, but there was no one to ask about that. I have finally figured out how to sum up the care given there that leads to such frustration...LACK OF COMMUNICATION.... finally when someone came out I gave her my band and told her I was leaving and not getting the EDG done, she asked why... I will admit I almost turned around to tell the people in the lobby of why I was leaving but chose to keep walking.  I do not mind waiting, if I know what is going on. You don't just put people in a room and walk away and not say anything.

I am tired and wore out trying to deal with them, and my health, I have no fight left in me. It seems like trying to get it fixed is causing more damage, physically and mentally. I need to take a break from it now even if that means praying to the puking and nausea gods for awhile. I even tried to pay my co-pay from last week when I got there and she did not want to take it. So I still owe that because someone did not want to do their job.

Theresa, I know you have done your best but I will say even God himself could not get me to walk through those doors again. I would rather suffer from this than go through the unprofessionalism and aggrevation again.  I did not expect the red carpet, but I did expect information when things are running behind. It would have been nice if I went to the desk and someone was actually there doing their job that could tell me it would be another hour or another week that I would be sitting there, then there would have been no issue.

I wish everyone the best that has surgery there. I have no complaints about the surgical or inpatient staff when I had my surgery done. I just have the issue with the "lifetime" follow up care and their communication technique.

Joy, so sorry to hear about your problems with Ypsilanti. I pray that I do not have the problems that have seem to have followed you after surrey. I had Dr. Taylor but also meet Dr. Poplawski, both seem to be very nice men.  The head floor nurse Jan was very nice I seen her on my discharge day. The only thing that I will post on Barix of Ypsilanti is would I go there again for my surgery "NO"  At this time..Yes I'm glad I had the surgery, but would only do it again at an actually hospital. Good luck Joy and I wish you the best.   Cheryl
