Yates is a great Cider Mill,  I grew up about 7 miles south of there.....it was quite the hang out in my youth (yep that long ago).  There is a great park across the street with a river going through it, and on both sides of the road (Cider Mill side and park side) there are trails for walking.

The 10th is great for me.....let's chime in all.....

Still haven't gotten everything unpacked yet, probably about 15 more boxes to look into and purge.  I got on the scale this morning and I'm now officially down 42.5 pounds, but who knows what tomorrow will show.  I got on the scale nekid and after a big poop, so I think that helped, but it sure looked nice.  One more pound and I'll be in onederland!  I'm down into my size 18 jeans now and they're very comfortable.  I'm going to go thru all my clothes and get them ready.  My poker buddy is coming up in October so I want to have her go thru them.  Mostly 2X or XXL.  I'm wearing my XL's comfortably now and I can actually tell by looking at myself that I'm getting thinner.  It's a great feeling.  After Judy goes through the clothing you're welcome to come up and check them out.  What I don't get rid of I'm going to put on Craig's List in lots.  I'll let you know, probably toward the end of October I'm thinking.  I have a dr appt downstate on Oct 21st for my 3 month followup, so it'll be the 22nd before I get back up here.  I'll PM you when I get back, but if I forget, PM me.

The Yates Cider Mill is located at Dequindre and Avon Roads (23 Mile Road) in Rochester Hills, Michigan. The mill is just 35 minutes from downtown Detroit.

Yates Cider Mill can be reached from the Clinton River Trail and the Macomb Orchard Trail. We are only a short distance south on Dequindre Rd.

From the North

I-75 South to M-59 East. Take M-59 to Dequindre Rd. Exit. Make a left at the end of the exit ramp and make an immediate Left onto Dequindre Rd. Take Dequindre Rd. approximately 2 miles to Avon Rd. and turn right. We are on the right side of the road.

From the South

I-75 to Rochester Rd. Exit. Take Rochester Rd. approximately 7 miles to Avon Rd. Turn Right on Avon. We are located about 3 miles down Avon Rd., just past Dequindre Rd.

From the East

M-59 West to Dequindre Rd. Turn Right off the exit (heading North). Take Dequindre Rd. approximately 2 miles to Avon Rd. and turn right. We are on the right side of the road.

Shoot, I've been going to Yates since I was a little kid.  I grew up in Royal Oak and then moved to Warren.  Yates was the cider mill of choice.  We also hit Blakes in Armada.
Hope you guys have a great time.  I think you can walk where the railroad tracks were and go to Bloomer State Park.  Memories......

Wow, a meet would be cool, however I'm doing the 5 mile breast cancer walk on belle isle on October 10th. I live in Grand Blanc so most places are fairly close for me.

Another cool place woud be Canterbury Village which is near Clarkston, the restaurant's right there and they have the cutest shops. Or even somewhere around Frankenmuth.

I definetly wanted to go but, I also have my " making strides"  walk that day .
