New to MI board
Hi!
Everyone gets nervous before surgery.....you'll do just fine. Follow your surgeon's directions and eat only what the dietician tells you and everything will go great. Before long you will be happy you had this life saving surgery.
Best wishes,
Pat R.

Wow, you should have come here months ago. We're good at putting minds to ease on here, since most of us have made the trip over to the other side. The advice I give is after surgery DON'T OVERDO. I can give this advice from experience. I over did things because I was feeling so good, and suffered a little from it. Like everyone says, sip sip sip walk walk walk post surgery. It'll help you recover quickly.
You've found the right board to frequent. We're a fairly small intimate group of very supportive people who don't judge. I frequent this board and the Over Fifty Forum. Real nice supportive people on both. You'll learn a lot from all of the experiences. I'm only six weeks out, so I'm fairly new, but my memories are real recent too.
Welcome aboard!

Congrats on your getting your date! My best advice is to read and learn as much as you can.
Besides coming here, you may want to check out the vsg board since that's the surgery you've chosen (I believe that's what I saw).
Good luck and ask away,
Edie

Welcome!! Your day will be here before you know it! I agree with the others, read as much as you can. I learn so much from these boards and the experiences of others who post here. You will have questions post op so ask anything you need to know....that's what I did and I always got great advice from people here.

You'd have to be brain dead not to be a little nervous. BUT...you are in a good spot. Most of us here have been where you are curently and where you will be in a bit over a month. Yes, both pre- and post- times can be daunting, but no worse than the awful feelings of being fat, bloated, and totally out of control eating mindlessly in massive amounts. Like many others, I am thrilled I made the decision I made. I look at my before pics and myself now, look at my lowered BP and heart rate, see that my face is so much thinner, am sleeping so much better at night....it's worth it!
