Morning Mi.
I hate these kind of days in august.    Its supposed to be hot and sunny this time of year.
Finally got the cast off my arm Tues,  Its doing real good Dr says    I do  have to wear a support for several weeks  but I can take that off to when it itches and to shower anyway!     I have to use the support  it really hurts if I don't and if its not careful.
QOTD  Hubby is working all weekend again  so  I'm  not gonna be doing much,   Think I will go to the clothes closet I volunteer at and drop off several donations  people have ask me to take over.    Have a couple of kids now  so will do  something fun  but not sure since the zoo is out in the rain.   Have a great one everyone

Morning everyone, I happily just got out of bed, nothing to eat or drink yet.  I have to make a protein shake but...I have taste/texture issues with them.  I keep thinking great, what will it be like after surgery then.  Oh well, I can do hard things.

QOTD-This weekend and next are quite busy for me.  This weekend starts today.  My best friend is brining her daughter over to spend the night with my daughter and their shared cousin(a girl) at my mom's house.  I don't even have to put up with them Woo hoo!  So at 10:30 I have to leave home with 4 kids-my 3 and 1 extra and a boat load of food to take to the kids school because I am feeding the teachers during their professional development today and to drop the girls off to my mom.  Yestarday I made pulled bbq pork, honey cornbread, no-bakes, pork and beans, and a bunch of food for after surgery for the kids.  Ok after that I promised my 5yr old son we would do some special stuff ending with tonigh****ching the new Wizards movie on Disney.  Tomorrow I have to take my kids to my mom's to pick up the girls and make a whole bunch of goodies for church next weekend, we are incharge of the coffee hour.  Then on Sunday there is church and at 4pm there is a concert at church called All About Eve.  If anyone wants to go let me know, it's in Essexville.  Afterwards is food.  And it's rain or shine, just would depend on it being indoors or outside in our park/grove area.

Morning everyone!  I feel like I have been MIA for a while b/c I was on vacation....a real vacation without access to a computer :-)  Steve and I went to Washington DC and stayed in a secluded cabin in the mountains.  Had a great time kayaking, hiking, relaxing, site seeing.  We came within 60-75 feet of a black bear while hiking!!  And when we got back to the cabin, we found a snake (a live one!!) in our  bathroom!!  I'm glad that snake was found on the last day we were there b/c it would have freaked me out otherwise the whole time we were there if we had seen it sooner!

1. Where do you like to walk?  I prefer anywhere outside.

2. What does your hair look like?  Right now, like CRAP.  I am at the stage in my WL journey where my hair is coming out in handfalls.  I can really feel the difference in how it has thinned out.  It's longer, a little past my shoulders right now and has about 2 inches of dry ends that need to be cut!!  I think I'll call my hairdresser and see if I can get in today :-)

3. What are you jealous of?  People who can buy whatever they want whenever they want it.  I'm not materialistic at all, but I wish I didn't have to worry about money.

4. What kind of promises do you make?  Only promises I know I can keep.  I can't stand that, it is a pet peeve when people say they are going to do something and then don't do it or follow through.
5. What makes you stare? Only  because I just got back from a beautiful vacation, I would have to say the mountains.  It truly was breath taking some of the places we stopped to take pictures on the scenic routes through the mountains.

Good morning everyone from this Yooper. It just started sprinkling,it's soppose to be a cool wet weekend so whats new, it's been a cool summer. We've  only been in the pool 5 times, the nights are so cool the water loses it's heat at night even with the solor cover. My weekend will be spent in the hospital, the DH has been admitted to the hospital  he is a very sick man.He has stage 4 small cell lung cancer,he just finished 18 treatments of radiation. He told me yesterday he wasn't going to make it through this and if he knew what the radiation was going to do to him he would have refused them.,it broke my heart.I have been walking around in a daze for a week,I feel so helpless all I can do is pray and be there for him.Enough of my venting, have a great day even if it is raining.Sometimes God just has to cry and I can understand if he is looking down at what this world has become it should be pouring.

Gussie,

My thoughts and and some very special prayers are with you and your husband, and many virtual hugs.

I understand completely where your husband is coming from.  I went through 25 treatments of radiation. I said the same thing, if I would have known then what I knew about 15 treatments in, I might have made a different decision.  It does get better.  The exhaustion, the pain from the radiation burns that I had were something I don't think I had ever experienced before in my life, but it did and does get better.  That was 18 months ago, and now I view it as one of my best decisions regard it.

Keep your faith and take care of yourself.

I'm so sorry to hear how hard his treatments have been.....he must be a fighter, I know I hated radiation too, it kicked my butt!

I hope his body starts to heal and his outlook gets better soon.

Come vent anytime....do you guys go to a support group?  I found my cancer support group invaluable during my treatments.

PM me, with your phone # if you'd like to talk,
