Thursday Morning Coffee

Hear, hear, for getting the gov't out of the classroom.  The worst part of the beginning of the school year is "preparing" for the MEAP test.    GOTTA MAKE AYP!!!  Thank you, NCLB.  

In other countries the adults don't even work all but two weeks.  Many countries shut down for months for the holidays.

Good Morning All!
Feeling much better today - started out with a cup of hot tea this morning.
I can't believe how the time is flying!  I'm kinda crazy because I love the time change and the cooler weather!
QOTD- Well back when my kids were in school and having parents who lived up north I would have liked them starting after Labor Day so we could have spent more time up north on the long weekend instead of having them start school on Monday or Tuesday and then get the three day weekend off . . . but now that I don't have any kids in school it's OK either way with me.  I do understand both side of the issue  . . . the tourism and the teachers . . seeing on how my family is full of teachers.

I'm from the UP and I'm not a YUPPER,I'm a YOOPER,I worked at a catholic school for 17 years, we  would start school on the Thursday before Labor Day.The kids who showed animals at the fair didn't have to come until Tuesday after Labor Day..Now tell me that made any sense? It should start after Labor Day,so many people plan on that last long weekend of the summer.With kids in school Thursday and friday thats kinda hard to do.Thats my opinion from the YOOPER!
