Good morning all -

Doing the usual -- protein chai tea, then coffee, in a few minutes... breakfast.  Leaving work early today to join my mom at her 6 year post-RNY appointment at Hurley.  Hoping to talk to an academic advisor at Baker College while I'm out and about today too.

QOTD -- One of my favorite books was "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein.  We lived on a street where the sidewalk really did end about half a block from our house and there was a little drop off at the end of the pavement -- I remember taking my book down to the end of the sidewalk and reading for hours.  I also loved all the Dr. Suess books too.

Pam,
I loved reading Shel Siverstein to my kids . . . they still remember them.  I give the book the "Giving Tree" by Shel as a gift a lot . .

Hubby is on vacation this week so he's here with me now.  Going through some of the clothese he didn't know he had and that don't fit anymore, so they'll be going to the church.  Raining all day today today.  yuk.  I've got a few more things to pack, but I've got to have some stuff for the next week.
QOTD:  Like a lot of girls, I loved to read, and loved to order from Scholastic.  I can still feel the texture of the paper the order form was made of, something like newspaper.  I loved the horse and dog stories.  There was one book "Champion Dog Prince Tom" that I read over and over.  Probably 10 years ago now a friend of mine found it at a garage sale and bought it and I read it again.  Still a good story.  Since we're moving, I got rid of most of my books.  now I just get books at the library, they don't take up any space and Gary loves that and they're free!

Amazing how stuff accumulates when you live somewhere long enough. I just donated 5 boxes to the JDRF sale they will be having here at work in a cpl of weeks. I keep books like old friends, but, figured since I was moving I would let someone else enjoy my friends too.

Keep up the good work Jan.....

Good Morning,
Having a bad pouch day today . . been sick twice already.  Think I'll just wait on the food and start drinking water.

QOTD- I am not a big reader but I did read all the Laura Ingalls Wilder books when I in school,  I was a crafter even back then.  I would rather have bottle of glue and a bunch of construction paper, my mom would give me old buttons to glue on my projects . . she had a button box when we were young . . she just gave me that box a few months ago.
My mom and sisters and daughter read everyday . . I wish I could relax enough to read.  But if I'm going to sit for any length of time I'm going to stitch a pillow case!

Enjoy your day!

Sorry to hear you're not feeling well Kristi.  We just got back from lunch.  We went mexican and I had a beef and cheese enchilada, almost.  I gave Gary what I couldn't eat.
The button box...wow, memories.  We had a button tin.  I can still smell the buttons.  Weird huh.  I had them for quite a while.  They may still be in the sewing kit that I have up north.  I'm not sure.  We used to play with them all the time.  Amazing what kept us entertained back then.

Hi Everyone
The usual this morning! Mocha Chino
QOTD: well I was considered a slow reader when I was a kid, just didn't want to do it. so I did not read much. I like books that had a lot of pix in them. I really like being read too. One of my favorites was Curious George. Way back then.
Then In my later years I returned to college and had to read allot. I pushed myself, and carrying a 4.0 average. One of my favorite books from that time would be the series By Mia Angelo.
They are about her life long struggles, and how she succeeded.
Also, like the series by the author of A Boy Named It. They are about his struggles of child abused and How he succeeded. He was one of the worst abused cases ever documented.

I like to know about people who rise above adversity. They are my heroes!.

"When we stop running away from the situation that is scary - that is the moment we discover how strong we really are. So, acknowledge your strength...rejoice in it...and start breathing in life, as the beautiful, strong soul (being) that you truly are." - Rachna Sirtaj.......Love & Peace
