It's Wednesday!-Hump Day
What's waking you up this morning? Got a morning call when the thunderstorms moved thru early this morning and then the rain afterwards. Now, it will be a pot of black decaf coffee. Good morning for that! Overslept for the gym-wanted to check out the new spin bikes but slept thru the alarm :-(.
Had a lot of good memories when Tina talked about Scholastic book orders. Used to look forward to getting the order sheet when I was in school and loved ordering books. Back then the books were 10 to 25 cents each..
QOTD-On that thought, did you have any favorite books growing up? I loved all of the "Mary Poppins" series growing up as well as all of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books-"Little House on The Prarie." "Charlotte's Web" was one of my favorite, too. I loved all the library reading programs in the summer time and loved going to the library.
Have a good one!

Good Morning Deb and everyone!

I am getting ready to go to work....same old same old.  Not drinking anything yet.   I just had my breakfast of Kashi, yogurt, and berries.  I will take some Purple Smash to work with me later.

QOTD-I read anything and everything I could get my hands on.  I loved the Judy Blume books, but my mom wouldn't let me read them.  So my sister would borrow them from her friends and I would hide under the covers and read them.  My mom is a school bus driver and in the summer she would stop at all the garage sales on her route and buy any books they had for me.  One summer she bought about 10 horror books (Stephen King etc.).  I read them just because they were in the house but it scared me to death!  Thinking back to stuff like that, it's no wonder I'm so messed up!  Who gives their 9 year old adult horror books to read?  Sheesh......

Anyway, hope you all have a great day.  It's dark here and looks like it's going to rain most of the morning.

I was thinking that too as I read it.  My mom was weird.  Reading about serial killers and flesh eating zombies is ok.  A girl getting her monthly bill?  No way, not in our house!! LOL

Hey Everyone!

Haven't been around.. we were up north at my Mom's for a few days. I am just up watching the baby sleep for now. I have a busy day full of errands. The best part is I am getting a pedicure and my haircut tonight. I earned enough Aveda points that I got a 50 dollar gift certificate for my salon. Got to love free stuff! Good thing I use their shampoo religously huh? LOL

QOTD: I loved books period. When I was small we would go to the library all the time and I would always check out a stack of books. I did get into the Judy Blume books when I was in middle school.. In HS forget it.. I did not read unless it was required.. But now ironically as an adult I read so many books it is not funny. I have a huge set of bookshelves in the basement that I have filled with books I have gotten at yard sales, resale shops or traded with friends to read... I even sometimes read two books at a time.. Right now I am reading Such a Pretty Fat by Jennifer Lancaster (one of my favorite authors) and I am also reading Happiest Baby on the Block.

Have a great day everyone

I CANNOT FIND MY HAPPIEST BABY ON THE BLOCK BOOK.  GRRRR... LOL  Seriously, I was planning on reading it in May.  I remember having it at the hospital while AJ was there, but can't find it now!

So far it is pretty interesting.. explains something that I did NOT know.. I actually found mine at the resale shop and only paid 1.50 for it... One of my other friends who just had twins in May suggested it to me... I am only about a third of the way into it... But I will keep you posted. LOL

I think it is a better read for parents who have colicky babies but I have not gotten to the back of the book yet about sleeping patterns.

That book is by the guy who talks about "the 5 S's", right?  I've seen portions of videos by him.  Dub didn't care for the swaddling so much but the "shhhh"-ing gets his attention and would quiet him when he was very young.
I've been lucky with him as he's responded to pretty typical stuff and sleeping hasn't been an issue either.  Hopefully the trend will continue...hopefully...
