Hey Michiganders.....I need help.

I am really struggling with food ideas. Does anyone have any recipes they can share with me. We are huge chicken fans but no chicken on the bonde, no fish of any kind please. Also if you wouldn't mind sharing your grocery shopping list ideas.

Thanks a million.

I'm in a rut too.  Looking forward to seeing how people reply to this.

We all need different food ideas having WLS. We are so prone to be in a food rut. It took me a minute, but I found the link to a blog of one of someone called "Eggface" on the regular board. She has all kinds of recipes especially for WLS people:

Enjoy!

My favorite dinner or lunch is bean enchiladas . . with low carb wheat tortillas.
I don't do meat really well so I just cook the re-fried beans and roll them in the tort's and cover with enchilada sauce and cheese put under the broiler until cheese is melted and then top with lettuce and tomato . . . yummy

Also check out Hungry Girl's blog she has lots of great ideas.

The other day I was craving my mom's pasta sauce, it's a family recipe so instead of making sauce to put over pasta, I made meatballs and used a meijer brand marinara sauce to put over the meatballs. I've made the White Chicken Chili and the turkey meatballs from the Bariatriceating site, it's pretty yummy. I make that and a red chili with lean beef and freeze it in one cup containers to take to work. I want to try some of eggface's recipes, I've made protein ice cream and thats about it. Oh, and if you like pizza, I use miniflatouts or low carb tortilla...the pizza I made the other night was yummy, pesto sauce, tomato and mozzarella.

I used to make this all the time when I was early out and totally forgot about it until my hubby came in from the garden with a ton of veggies!

Cut up any combo of eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, garlic, onions, and bell peppers.  I used one of each veggie with 3 cloves of garlic.  Put veggies on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.  Season with salt and pepper.  Roast in a hot oven 450-500 degrees for 35 min. or until they are soft.

When they cool off, throw them in the food processor with some low fat or fat free cream cheese and whir it up until smooth.  Let it chill in the fridge for a bit to harden up.

You can schmear this on a slice of deli ham and roll it up for a quick snack or use it to dip stuff in.  To me, it tastes just like the garden veggie cream cheese they sell in the store, but with this, you are actually getting real vegetables, not dehydrated powder.
