Approved

I had my psych eval at Henry Ford about 2 weeks ago. I got a call from HAP this week saying that I was appproved to see the surgeon. I called to make my appointment at HF, but I have to do a 4 hour orientation first. At least I am one step closer!!

Congratulations!  It seems like a lot of hoops to jump through but it will happen!

I've done everything that you're going to have to do.  I had my surgery by Dr. Genaw on 7/16/09.  Both Genaw and Carlin are great guys.  There are a lot of hoops to jump through, but in the end it's worth it.  You get a lot of education and information at the orientation meeting.  In fact, you get a big three ring binder that will be your bible.  Just about any questions you could think of will be answered in that book.  It takes a while (months) but your time will come.  I was approved in Nov 08 and didn't finally have my surgery until 7/09.  Worth every minute of the wait.
